yes it could be done, the unit was designed to be robust so it needed a tough box to go in. You could take all the parts out the box which would make it a lot smaller. You could lose the buzzer and have the battery in a separate place that would make it very small! as it is the box is 70mm x 45mm x 26mm so it fits in to a 5" loco cab or boat easily.

to bad the unit is so big. Is there anyway to use it with a servo so it would adjust the bypass valve to allow more water to enter the boiler?
