Wow -- Mary Travers is the freak'in "mom" mtRNA|DNA to Gisel Bündchen, among the recent decade's mega-top-dollar-paid fashions models ever...whereas, many contemporaneous critics et al narrow thinkers, discounted Mary's "strong looks" as, at best, a cruder version of the "Julie Christie school of peroxide-locks"; whereas, in retrospect--at least for newer generations--review of the ubber-graphical stagings, w/high-key lighting, proves my salient point. Not my type, but lookers all the same!

Very moving and I cried throughout as I remembered the wonderful music that PPM has given us over the years. We boomers truly grew up in the greatest of times...Thank you PPM for giving so much to us.

God... what a wonderful tribute to a beautiful lady. Thank God we have her recordings so we can hear her amazing voice forever and videos to see the way she moved when she sang.
Bikel ( Captain Von Trapp) is coming to Toronto on August 21st at Beth Emeth synagogue! It's Ashkenaz Foundation's greatest Yiddish concert of the year. See you there!
This is a beautiful video. What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful lady... a lady who cared about our world and the people living in it. Woodie's song is perfect also. I know Odetta is gone, but at one point I felt I heard her voice for a brief second. That gave me chills. So many great singers and activists have come together to show they care also. Thank you for uploading this video!
I don't know why I keep coming back to watch this video, because I cry EVERY time. I know it's a celebration of a simply marvelous performer's life, but I still cry. I guess it's because I feel sorry for myself that this wonderful singer is no longer with us. I was lucky enough to see PP&M in concert a few years ago and Mary's voice, even at her then advanced age, was still as clear as a bell. I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to see these three in my lifetime. RIP dear Mary.
From Manila Philippines, Even lately i found out that Mary Travers pass away Sept 2009, my heart fully condolence to her family and followers...her music will remain to my HEART FOREVER!
From Ottawa Canada as well, I have been a fan since I was 13. Now 35 and their harmony was amazing. The time they spent doing what they thought was the right thing. Love them for that. RIP Mary, sorry I only got to see them once.... Youtube will allow me to watch them over and over again. Thank you for posting videos.... The lady at the end, what power... Amazing.....

awww man i wish i was there..i would,ve tooking some pictures with them..im a big fan of peter paul and mary..i love these guys..they make real good beutifull music not like the garbage stuff they play now in days
I remember so well hearing of Mary's passing and in celebration of her birth November 9...I added a song called Change by Meg Chrisitan. It seemed right.
I can see her smiling while listening and watching all of her friends here.
Peter and Paul, I would like you to know that tonight, as I came across this video I celebrated Mary's life with you, singing and clapping along and marveling at the brave beauty the three of you sung. I was ten or so (?) when I first heard my teenage sister playing your music and I loved it - it was a wonderful example of truth and love in music. I love you always. God bless you.
@Ariverflowing Wow!!!! Beautifully put, even though I was born in the late 60's and didn't discover Mary and the boys till the early 80's I love their music, harmonies and spirit...... God bless you my friend!!!!
What a wonderful tribute to a truly wonderful life. It is great to see such a great celebration of her wonderful life. Much has been written about Mary's "battle with cancer." In her case especially, the "battle" metaphor strikes a dissonate note for one who did so much for peace in her lifetime. I prefer to think she endured her ordeal with cancer showing the same grace and spirit she showed throughout her life. As with war, cancer has no winners or losers.
@AliceMarr I so agree Alice! As wonderful as it is to see so many in support, I just can't bear to see the two of them without Mary. there is such a tangible empty space there, that will NEVER be filled by anyone else.
This is so beautiful and upbeat. I've been a PPM fan since I was a kid in '62 I also admired the commitment and energy Mary put into social justice issues. I'm somewhat more conservative and we didn't share the same view on all political issues ... but even on issues where I felt differently, I still admired the energy and commitment she put in. A terrific singer and role model. Thanks for sharing this video, a celebration of Mary's life. Sara, Ottawa, Canada
Additionally...The lady immediately behind Peter Yarrow is his daughter Bethany, successful performer in her own right. Behind her and Theodore Bikel is instrumentalist extraordinaire for both PP&M and the Chad Mitchell Trio, Paul Prestopino.
What a great post - to see people celebrating Mary's life as it should be. Thanks for uploading.
