Ja die Welt ist klein, denn ich bin auch ein gebürtiger Bayer. Leider habe ich jedoch die wenigste Zeit in Bayern verbracht. Das Stück wollte ich vor längerer Zeit 'mal mit einer (echten) Posaune aufführen, doch mein Können hat für einen akzeptablen Auftritt nicht gereicht. So blieb mir nur die Keyboard-Version. Aber dafür spiele ich jetzt die komplette Blasmusikkapelle ;-).

Hello,

i use an Korg 01W/FD synthesizer (lower), an M-Audio Axiom Midi-Controller (middle), an Roland D10 synthesizer (upper) and an Midi-Pedal Elka PM13.

With the pedal i play sounds from the Korg over midi. With the Roland synth i play his own sounds and additional also sounds from the Korg over midi.

With the Axiom i play and control per USB (Midi) VST-Instruments on the computer.

No, Axiom (from M-Audio) is the Midi-Controller in the middle of the three keyboards. The programm that i use to play the VST Instruments is called Live-Styler.

Great playing! This hard set piece must really take some time to get fully ingrained. It would be interesting to know how long you did practice this song from the moment you had it memorized until you did the recording?

Hello Rounder,

and thanks a lot. It take many hours to make this video. At the beginnig i fiddle about the complete sound (registration, hall, rhythm) surely 3 hours. Then i consider how i will and of course how i can play the piece (i have no score). This part takes perhaps 4 hours. Then i have to practise it. Several evenings after work. Last but not least the recording. 4-5 takes, then mixing video and audio together. For this part ca. 3 hours. So all in all together two comlete days.

"Several evenings" - That's fast! I am impressed! I takes so much longer for me. It took me much longer than that just to get my swing timing right in my latest song 'Walking in the old school'. Well, time to practice again :-)

Otherwise our workflow seems to be quite similar.

PS. One other thing that I can't rush, even if I often have wanted to, is the time it takes to get ideas for improvisation. Ideas come when they come.
