I used 3 yards of ribbon. how much you cut depends on how long you want the tails. It's all personal taste.

Betty Jean, I have been making bows since I was 8 years old. However, after watching your video I made the prettiest bow I have ever made. You made it easy and simple, plus my bow rivals that of professionally made bows seen in stores.

Honestly, Out of all the video's that I have watched and have been trying to learn how to make a bow for my wreaths for so long,Yours has helped me so much. You make it look so easy . I had to keep watching you about 2 to 3 times while also trying to mimik what you were doing but I finally got it !! I hot glued a flatback pearl in the center and my bow turned out beautifully! ...i went to the craft store today and purchased most of the items for my wreath. it is going to look beautiful! i did a test run placing the items on the wreath and it is very pretty. Betty jean i has been searching for differnet styles of bows. with regard to simplicity, ease of assembly, clear instructions and the finished product...this is the best video i have seen for bows AND wreaths. thank you, once again.

This was the first time I had seen anyone divide the ribbon in half and then work their way out. But it seems like a great way to do it! How do you know how much ribbon you will need? I dont recall hearing this on your video (an actual length).

Finally! Oh, thank you so much for posting this - it seemed like every video I watched showed the same complicated way to make bows, which would only work if you had done it a million times.
