  • @ogsolution can we select a video from our computer ? instead of youtube video ?

  • @iTeenmusic What kind of video?

  • @hexdrill Sorry but I haven't had a lot of experience working with action script. Hope someone can see this and help @hexdrill out.

  • Just look for embed on the video page an click there once you done that copy all the code an post it to your html folder. refesh then it should be there.

  • @Booboo201999a Thanks for the post

  • guys how to embed HTML to my website? pls help me. jmdavidjm@gmail thanks alot in advance :)

  • @creedhc Please be more specific.

  • @creedhc

    webng.com

  • @creedhc What kind of HTML are you looking for? Are you trying to embed flash on your website?

  • Would that pass w3c validation becuse it has the embed tag within the object tag?

  • @sjguk267 You are right, this wouldn't pass the w3c validator as XHTML 1.0 Strict. Hopefully these types of tags would be obsolete in a few years time when HTML5 dominates.

  • Thank you soooo much. This has really helped in making a business website.

  • @MrBeny619 Glad I can help.

  • @MrBeny619 You're welcome.

  • Thanks... :)

  • Do you know any websites that offer free swf hosting

  • if you google "free swf hosting" you may be able to fine something.

  • Thanks for posting this. I wanted to get video files located on my computer onto my website, without using youtube. After listening to your explanation of the tags, I rewrote your example to point to the .WMV files on my computer, (or the appropriate directory) instead of youtube, and it worked great ! Cool, Thanks.

  • Great! thanks for your comment.

  • can you float the video...or center it like how a normal Image is treated in HTML

  • Will this work on php files as well?

  • Yes, it should

  • so say if for example i wanted to upload a forum signature which has flash properties... i would do the same thing with the URL... but where can i upload the swf file to the internet so i could get the URL. thanks in advance

  • I have not seem a forum allowing a flash signature but if the forum allows, then place like Youtube should be good.

  • i need your help

ive created a flash intro banner and im trying to embed it on my myspace page.

  • really useful thanks

  • You're welcome

  • hey cool thanks. I dont wanna use youtube but the way you set it up helps alot.

  • very nice tutorial.i am glad u taught me the meaning o embed tag.

wiuld you please tell me how can we tell the visitor to install flash. like there is "alt" for images,if visitors encounter that his/her browser is not flash compatible, then is there any html tag to set a text "Please Install Flash from ...... " .

i want this feature because noncompatible browsers block flash objects.

  • You can check if flash is installed with some JavaScript. I know some browsers do tell the user that the website requires additional plugin/flash. Hope this helps.

  • Problem: I use firefox as my default browser and it say "Additional plugin required" but then when I asked it to install the plugins it stated that none suitable could be found.

I then tried it in Internet Explorer and I then allowed the blocked content but nothing happened. It displayed two boxes, one above the other, with the missing file icon in the top left corner.

Any ideas as to why this happening?

  • I'm assuming the browser is trying to install Flash. If that's the case, you can go directly to adobe website and install Flash there. After you've installed Flash, make sure to restart all your browsers.

  • thx, your video helped me alot, I made a website, and instead of value="(youtube addres)" I dis value="(path to my file .swf), Thx alot!

  • cool... glad my video helped

  • Great tutorial. Clear and easy to understand, five stars from me.

  • thank you.

  • Thanks for saving me a couple of hours of work with your very nice video. Good job!

  • thank you for your comment

  • thanks so much!! : )

  • you're welcome!

  • Dude, thats very nice of you to share that piece of knowledge. This video is killer compared to the other videos I stumbled onto. You got 5 stars from me....Thanks! Sin-surely, the other dude.

  • Thanks for the vid. Taking a webpage design class, and we haven't done this yet. Decided to make my own personal web page, just to see what I could do, and I used this to embed a game on my site.

  • sounds pretty interesting. Please enjoy.

  • THANKS!!!

  • thanks for the comment

  • taught me a lot (:

    thanks so much.

  • Thank you very much... :)

  • Can you please explain how you take an embedded code and paste it into your YOUTUBE page? Everyone talks about taking Youtube videos and embedding them on other websites. Youtube does not show how to paste an embedded code into your youtube page so that you can make a video start automatically.

  • I think I know what you mean now. You want your text to show on the left/right side of the embedded flash video, right? If that's the case, you can place the text inside a div container and actually use CSS to style your text. Alternative method would be to use table with 3 cells and place your text in the left and right cell. Hope that helps.

  • thanks this helps

  • ok I got the video on the page but I wont my words/paragraph to go on the right/left of the video box how would I do that

  • Hey, itsdanny83... I forgot to thank you for your compliment. THANK YOU!

  • I am sorry but I don't know what you are talking about. With this video, I just changed my screen resolution to 640x480 and used BB Flashback Express to record my screen. Let me know if you need more information.

  • how would you make the text to go on the right or left side of the video?

    nice video
