  • This plays on the Spanish version here in Spain too, but obviously in Spanish!

  • I watched The Girl Who Waited with my neighbor Wyatt and his intro (American) had this and I was like: "Oh my god! This is sooo cool! How have a never seen this before?"

  • just hope they don't add it to the boxset...

  • This intro is also used for AMerican audiences i think...... and yes it's not about Amy, it should be "hi, Im the doctor....."

  • BBC- Get rid of this. I like Amy and all, but it's not "The Amy Show- featuring the Doctor" boolcks!!

  • Its alright on first watch but I can see how it would get annoying - tbh I hate these type of things before the intro's of most shows apart from the ones that rely on them like Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes

  • I wish they didn't add this extra bit. Intro from the last series was great.

  • I hate this bit!

  • It's on bbc america aswell :(

  • This one intro makes me want to download the episode, instead of watching it on TV.

  • as long as it's not longer than 30 seconds

  • So, so shit. It makes it out to be some sort of Donnie Darko imaginary friend crap.

  • Oh yeah, I remember this bullshit. I forgot we have this because I don't watch it on TV anymore.

  • Reminds me of the openings of Torchwood and TSJA and by God they were annoying.

  • Makes me wonder what they're gonna do next week because Amy and Rory arn't in it :S

  • The shows not about her!!!!! As an Australian I'm offended that we get this intro. We've been getting doctor who for decades. Don't put us in the same boat as the Amerians!!!

  • that wormhole is the eye of the master dalek.

they are looking for him again.

  • @4ever3011 it's just a wormhole

  • @BowTiesRCool

how did you make this ?

    i wanna try.

  • @4ever3011 I didn't make it, it's an official real intro used before the main titles on the Australian broadcasts of all the series 6 episodes

  • not as bad as everyone makes out. they do these kind of things on lots of shows. torchwood s1 has it

  • They have to stop putting this crap on the episodes.

  • What a disaster! At least in England you get to the opening titles without this unneeded prologue. I mean, it's at the beginning of each and every episode in Series 6, even the more recent ones. Do we need to know how Amy Pond met the Doctor at the beginning of Let's kill Hitler? HECK NO!

  • Reminds me of Shiri Appleby's annoying intro before the credits roll for Roswell. Why do American TV executives always feel the need to explain things to themselves, especially in regards to British tv shows? Do they think their viewers are really that stupid not to know what Doctor Who is about?

  • Gawd, it's pathetic! It's patronising. So, it's just in the US & Aussie broadcast then hey?

  • wow, Amy, try to sound a bit more arrogant why don't you...

  • Don't like it.

  • I live here in Oz, the land down under, I am hooked to the series and I always thought that the BBC had tried this and scraped it then let Australia use it. It's a good idea, but I agree, I don't like it...

  • Anyone else reminded of the Buffy series title sequence? "One girl to fight the vampires, demons..." etc. etc. Because it felt like that. Not for Doctor Who. Keep it as it was for nearly 50 years!

  • Please tell me this won't be the new intro for every episode now...I really don't want to say goodbye to OOOWEEEEOOOOOOO

  • @scribbledjoy they only played it on the first episode here where i am in maryland, east coast us, watching bbc america, and online i saw it the one time on downloaded episodes but that was it, not sure why people saw it every time, i def didn't, they just did it as a recap for newbies, and to be honest my mom n sis had never even seen one episode when i made them watch with me so it did help them out, lol!

  • I think it's kinda good to explain some stuff for new viewers, but yeah, it is pretty stupid to put so much emphasis on Amy.

  • America Got this FOR EVERY EPISODE! it was stupid shit that did not need to be there on the first place, its called the Doctor Who not The Amy Pond Adventures. and for trying to give "background info" its really shitty info. hes a time-lord his ship is the TARDIS, he comes from Gallifrey... That would be background information not "Amy pond's long winded story about how she ran away with another "man" like a whore the night before her wedding"

  • @Midnightmoon1209 well not in my house they didn't we got this for the first episode which was most likely to help new viewers, def helped my mom, lol, but after that episode we never saw it again and i am on the east coast of the us watching on BBC America so I have no idea what u saw or where they were showing it for every episode, since others said what I did that it played the one time. Maybe on repeats, but I never saw it again till now...

  • @RedCapeInc East coast watching it on BBCAmerica and ondemand. i think the only episode that didn't get it was DotM for me.

  • Wait, so let me get this straight. America got this for one episode, and England didn't get this at all.

So basically they added this just to 'explain the storyline so far' to audiences who 'hadn't seen previous episodes'.

And yet, everyone who didn't know the story will be like, "Oh so he's an imaginary friend", because it never says that he's NOT an imaginary friend.

  • I'm guessing Amy doesn't know that the Doctor is from Gallifrey?! She says 'he comes from somewhere else' < good detail(!) And what about Rory, you know, her husband?

  • Shame I download the episodes so I don't have to see this...

  • The one in Australia is a bit faster than this...

  • @slitheenplanet awkward for you because this IS the one in Australia...

  • I hate this intro so much it kills me every time they show it, Amy at first I didn't like you then you sort of grew on me but I do not need you to to tell me your back story. As @Midnightmoon1209 said "It's Doctor Who not the Amy Pond Hour."

  • @MunchkInaTopHat Ahem

Series 2 finale intro was completely about rose. What the F*** IS WRONG WITH THE COMPANIONS BEING NARRATORS!!! Watch every episode, nearly all the time the companions bring something significant to the table. Doctor Who is as much about the companions as it is The Doctor. I think I've made my point.

  • @babylon218 Then maybe they should change it Doctor Who and His Companions if they are going to keep it up then every single companion can get a narrator spot at the beginning of every single episode even Rory can have one.

p.s. Rose had one episode of narration not every episode from the beginning of the season to the finale.

  • @MunchkInaTopHat umm I said rose narrated the intro for THE FINALE. Not the whole of Season 2.

  • @babylon218 The only reason I said that is because I have to hear her intro every time.

  • ok its was alright the first time but every freakin hour hearing about the same shit we already know about,ok Amy we get it, you were a kid and then you decided to be a whore and run away with a strange man the night before you wedding, no need to hear about it every week.

its Doctor Who not the Amy Pond Hour,

  • Why the hate? Its great!

  • actually, this gave me chills. I thought it was epic =) although maybe it was just months of waiting coming to an end as series 6 began =)

  • @hobbitbox Yeah, I thought so, too...when it was in its context in the episode, it felt like a much bigger build-up to the title sequence than just 'Space...1969!'

  • ...I'm glad I get BBC One feeds.

  • uhm. i liked it. #unpopularopinion.

  • is this the annoying intro I've been hearing about?

  • @billiesbiggesfan most likely

  • @billiesbiggesfan this was awesome when it first appeared, then got annoying when they played it nearly every episode.

  • @billiesbiggesfan lol "Thank you Karen...not like we haven't been watching since 2005 or anything. Great to know exactly who the Doctor is."

  • I don't like it either! Thank you for posting this. Now I can show it to those in the UK who haven't seen it! haha

  • Can I just say how much this intro drives me mad. I'm an Old School Whovian (not bad given I'm 26), and this intro is... well. It doesn't tie-in with the rest of the show, and I think even goes so far as to cheapen it. Seriously, it needs to be dropped ASAP.

    Yes, I'm an Aussie.

  • I dislike this ... a lot. No no no no no.

  • Why is this intro being so hated on? You'd think people would at least praise it for filling in the new viewers on basic facts.

  • @spiderguy369 Cause people need to get filled in on the basic facts of a show that's been around for 50 years.

  • @Xondar11223344 It's the basic facts of Doctor 11 though not the whole series since the 60's or whenever.

  • Shame she doesn't mention her husband, Rory..

  • @FiXato Or the nearly 50 years of the rest of Doctor Who.

  • @FiXato Shame she's a stupid whore.

  • 2 people don't have a TARDIS. (And not the TARDIS you're probably thinking of.)

  • This is epic! The music's awesome too!

  • They better not play this on every Australian broadcast…

  • I filmed the BBC america one XD Im an American Doctor Who fan :D

  • are they doing it on the rest of the series ?

  • @ZacTerraHunterZTV not sure at all, if they do it this saturday in Australia then they probably will do it for these first 7 episodes

  • @BowTiesRCool u form aussie to then lol i hope they do even though i know u dont like it much apparently XD

  • @ZacTerraHunterZTV u form aussie to then? wat r u saying there?

  • @BowTiesRCool are u from australia as well lol im from aussie and u said im not sure if theyll do it in australia so i thought u might of been australian

  • @BowTiesRCool they don't play it any more (at least in america) they didnt have it in Day of The moon

  • @BowTiesareCool12 oh yeah :P yah im aussie too

  • @BowTiesRCool i really don't enjoy it- they didnt have it on one episode and I first heard that it was only here on the American one and I was like "This sucks."

  • @BowTiesareCool12 In Australia they have it every ep

  • @ZacTerraHunterZTV It was only for "The Impossible Astronaut."

  • @mowingthefrontlawn naaa were gettin it in aussie

  • @ZacTerraHunterZTV In front of every episode? I think BBCA only did it for "The Impossible Astronaut," so I thought it would be the same for Australia.

  • @mowingthefrontlawn yeah i was happy about it i thought it was brilliant and yeah we get it ev ep we dont have BBC in aussie we only have ABC lol

  • Comment removed

  • I don't like it either- at first i thought it was this instead of the theme and i was like " I swear if they are gonna do that I'm walking across the Atlantic Ocean and slapping them."

  • @BowTiesareCool12 This was only done in the BBC America broadcast.

  • @jeoboy actually it was also done on the Australian broadcast (hence the ABC 1 watermark on this video)

  • @BowTiesRCool Thanks for clearing that up. My mistake. ^_^

  • @BowTiesRCool I'm from America- so yeah i no its on the BBC America one :)

  • @jeoboy yeah i know

  • i loved it
