That's pretty impressive but you should do it on a bench so your getting the full affect that would be more impressive your basically doing half a rep.
@bambarby I'm not trying to tell you how to train dude, I'm just making a statement/opinion telling you that it would be more impressive on a bench with a full rep your ripped im not gonna tell you how to trian
That's a great idea if your solo. I've gravitated towards dumbbell benching because it includes those balancing muscles but I don't like bugging for spotters when things get heavy. My question is this. I can see the starting at 90 degrees being an advantage and disadvantage. Are we missing out on much by not getting that extra drop below from when one works on a bench?
is there any reason you do it on the floor rather than a bench? i normally just use bench with dumbell presses cos i feel the stretch more if i go down a bit more than 90 degrees...
Since fracturing and dislocating my right elbow, I've been doing one arm dumbbell floor presses because my arm is too weak to get the db into position and I have to use the other arm. Also, I can't turn my hand much, so I can only lift with my hand in a neutral, handshake position. I used to be insanely strong, but one bad fall, and now I can barely lift. It takes so much work to build your body up, but you can break it in an instant.
@timbahwolf i do this same exercise with almost the same weight (105lbs), but I do it on the bench. Now with me being on the bench I feel a strong core activation, especially in my obliques, since my whole body isnt being supported. My question is when you are on the floor and having your whole body completely supported, do you still get the same core activation?
Very impressive. Heavy, yet very solid form. T-Wolf is quickly rising in the YouTube ranks as one of the fittest people I have ever seen and I've seen many, many athletes.
i guess he's doing it from the floor to limit the range of motion....it is kinda dangerous to peform a single arm chest press with such a weight full ROM, especially trying to keep your balance
no, a floor press is usually used to take the stretch reflex out of the motion. when he starts from the ground like that he has to generate all the power from nothing.
WOW...this was like performing a feat of strength! I look at it like...you just lifted 660 lbs with one arm in only 28 seconds. Why the floor, rather than regular bench...maybe afraid of a pec tear? Anyways, it was an awesome display of power, and I'm guessing you probably weigh under 200 lbs. Thanks for sharing.

Solid work! What's the advantage to doing a floor press as opposed to a bench press?
kungfuman82 6 months ago
@kungfuman82 floor presses eliminate any interference with the legs and better isolate the pecs triceps and delts as compared to a bench press
