Lower end graphics (meaning badly textured bright graphics and stuff like that) tends to hurt my eyes, where-as making games look a lot better with modern graphics engines doesn't hurt my eyes nearly as much.

@NintendoCosmosMedia I don't have any arcade machines, sadly, but I do play them on MAME. haven't played 3DS, don't plan to... seems all it is is hyped remakes :/ as for strain on the eyes, it doesn't make me dizzy or lessen my focus in vision, it just causes my eyes to start hurting after an hour or so, so I have to look away for about 2-3 hours to get my eyes to stop hurting. Of course, I rarely do. Also, handhelds tend to be very straining on the eyes. Especially Gameboys...
