  • beautiful*

  • beatiful ending

  • Wilhelm Kempff is good. Just listen to Krystian Zimerman and you'll notice the diference. I admit that faster is not always better. In this case the interpretation of Zimerman sounds more like Schubert to me!

  • This pianist has been one of the best

  • Now, that's is quite another matter! Fast, certainly, not trashy like Zymerman!

Kempff's recording of well-known pieces is inordinately often revelatory. In 7 or 8 out of 10 cases he seems to find a lot of beautifull things many a pianist completely miss.

Thanks a lot for sharing. Beautifull rendition.

  • Kempff really has to be felt and heard and the cleanest technique does what he says.Schubert is really not an easy style to master. We can definitely learn a lot from Kempff!

  • berlinzerberus: nasty like a pitch in baseball is nasty (in other words, very very good.)

  • Wilhelm Kempff is just nasty, no other way to say it.

  • justify your silly opinion!! :((

  • MAGNIFICENCE ITSELF! Kempff is unapproachable in this repertoire. This is a difficult, technically demanding work, and Kempff trips the light fantastic here - with aplomb! WOW! LOVE it!!! Thanks so much for this post. It is a gem.

  • @Noshirm If you like this piece, please listen to the recording with Andreas Staier. In my opinion, he not only approached, but also surpassed all the masters!

  • Hurrah

    Go Kempffy!!

  • Dear fuckyouburger, this is Impromptu D935 (op 142) n. 4.

First rate interpretation, thank you for posting.

  • my favourite pianist in schubert and liszt.
