  • These were mounted ar 0 degrees with the mount point at 30% from the nose.

  • What angle did you mount the NACA 0020 blade at?

  • my brain is burning.. why is that 20ft^2 ?? 5*4 is 20 yes.. but ain't the form. for the surface of an open cyl. 2*pi*r*h not D*h ?? making it 62.8 ft^2 . but then u maybe divid that up on number of blades ....which makes no sense to me, cos then u only have 10.46ft^2 with 6 blades. OMG help

The area that the wind sees is the area of the turbine from the side. Imagine the turbine is spinning quickly and it's just a blur. From the side it looks like a rectangle 4ft high and 5ft wide. (that was before I cut it down.) Now it's 2ft high and 5ft wide.

  • Great work. I like your design.

  • Add guy-wires to your pole :)

What are the design trade-offs on numbers of blades? I know that 3 is optimum for conv prop turbines but why 3 for VAWTs?

  • Huge improvement i would say. Keep it up. great work. I like it.
