srry it took a while, this is my backup. you can find five pounds (2.5 each weight) at walmart. (i found mine near the yoga mats and fitness stuff) we used them on our company and they rally help jumps. even stretches. you can lie on your back with the weights on and get your middle split that way. hope this helps ^^

Don't get me wrong, I think she's gorgeous, beautiful and wonderful, but does anyone find her arms a little lacking classically (I mean, compared to other pro ballerinas, not like, me, or anything-lol)? Her pretty feet, explosive jumps and lovely extensions make up for it though.

i agree with you and the comment below. i felt that her arms weren't quite with the rest of her amazing technique, but then i watched Sylphide and she looked like the complete package to me. i think that it also has to do with the fact that this video is 2005 and Sylphide is 2008 and her style has become more refined over the years. keep in mind she is only 19 in this video...and in Sylphide she's a whole 22! ha.

Her jumps are so powerful, but so graceful as well! She leaps off the ground smoothly, and it looks like a partner is holding her in the air as she hits that perfect pose, then she just stays there for a minute, like she's floating! It's one of my biggest goals in life to have a jump like that!

I've seen other people do this also. I mean, the flying thing. One gal in my class also does this (but of course she doesn't jump as high as osipova, but she also flies!). And so, I feel that human can fly with grand jette!

I don't really know the secret though..

you try to keep your back leg suspended as long as possible. Most people jump and right away anticipate the back leg to come in. when you hold the back leg up (as well as the front leg) as long as possible, this creates the flying, suspended in air look.

Yes--She's now the principal dancer for the Bolshoi. Have you seen her Le Corsaire (It's actually Bayadere) variation? She's probably the best dancer I've ever seen!

yes its from paquita, but a lot of variations from paquita are in Don Q. the cupid, queen of the dryads too. its got the same spanish flare.
