i dont think they should put down other bands at all. of course they are right that these other bands have sold out to corporations and are basically puppets.....but they are still musicians and someone wrote that music...even if it wasnt the band members themselves. it is just a different kind of music, you shouldnt listen to LP or LB like you listen to tool because their music isnt as "deep" but it doesnt mean that people cant still enjoy it...

tool shouldnt be judged as separate artists but as a whole .

in my mind they are the essence of what it means to be a band an this is the very reason why their music is so balanced . you take that out and balance falls apart . it feels almost as if theyre just instruments in an opera made by a different great composer.
