  • @leenett hahaha. "the horse is enjoying the fame"... of course it is... :')

  • he makes it look much smaller than 7 feet!

  • I was THERE when he jumped this.. absoloutely AMAZING.. he was the only horse to clear it the entire round... and it was just for fun.. he had already won the show jumping part of the pussiance.. and the jump was 7 foot 4 inches.

  • I was THERE when this jump was jumped.. he was the ONLY person to cleanly jump it and the height was 7 foot 4.

  • god you guys are noisy! xx I could never ride in that enviroment!! Awsome video! hope you had a nice time!

    Rach xx

P.s. I mean no offence by saying you noisy! I think you are really good at chearing them on! xxx

  • It doesn't bother me that ppl are yelling. Besides when your on course a bomb could go off and you probly wouldn't even hear it. I wouldn't anyway.

  • that horse is so pretty!!!!

  • We were there!! Russel is a cool horse!

  • isnt that horse called russell?

  • do they always scream in the stadium?

i wud find it realli off putting,, but thats just me.

    nice vid. (:

  • I was there for this!! And unfortunately the announcer was really stupid and told people to "cheer for the riders" so that's what everyone did. After about two rounds the announcer said "so the riders have requested that everyone please be quite as they approach the wall"

So initially yes but once it got higher the screaming stopped thankfully

  • nice vid. i wonder about the screaming in the stadium though. Maybe thats an american thing as in nz the crowds are always quiet at horse events, even big ones, particularly when jumping as horse and rider need to concentrate! What a very good horse!

  • same! haha in australia

  • horses won't do something if they don't want to and belive me theyre stubborn when they want to be! anyone whos ever ridden horses would know that when that animal plants its feet its not going anywhere without a whole lot of determination. whoever thinks that this is 'cruel' or 'the horses are being forced to do it' is obviously not a rider. ask any rider-theyll tell you exactly the same

  • ok people the horse is trained for this and its not hurt cause he is still jumping at spruce meadows and such so stop ragging and if the horse didn't want to jump it wouldn't cause when my horse is in a "mare" mood she isn't just going to listen to me if i "scare" her and these horses LOVE jumping so if you dont know what your talking about dont say anything

  • ROFL

  • this looks like soo much fun!! i cant wait untill i do jumpers!

  • okay this is vally4ever speaking (new account and stuff)

    WHAHAHA

I have riden a horse many times.

    I've got one myself.

Been riding for 13 years now.

Got a lot of experience with stubborn horses.

If you think for one moment now, you will understand that you CAN make a horse to do A LOT OF THINGS IT DOESN'T WANT but I didnt mean in 1 moment. It takes time. We made a horse do a lot of things. COME ON. (to be continued)

  • Do you really think that ANY horse on this planet feels like JUMPING OVER A 7ft WALL BY ITSELF? NO THEY DON'T! But their owner trained them very hard and they kept on jumping over higher and higher obstacles untill they reach the 7ft DUH its all about training. Dont tell me you never had struggles with any horse before. because THEN I am the one thinking YOU never riden a horse before. Sorry for my bad typing but I feel like wasting my time doing this.

  • I SO AGREE!!

  • Puurer (L)

  • This is amazing!! i love that horse he's gorgeous and an amzing jumper! Nick Skelton is an amazing rider too! I'm glad he took the horse out of the comp... it was very responsible of him and it shows he puts his horses care before winning!<3

  • no its nick and russel

  • owell lol

  • Thats Nick Skelton. Well done to him and ARCO.

  • die mauer is maximal 2,00m...bei meinm letzten S/B gings bis 2,15m und die war um einiges höher.

also fürn S/B is des echt noch nich hoch.

  • und wo ist Dein SB-Video :-)

  • i feel so sorry for the horse they should have been silent until they finished jumping.

  • That horse must be so scared of that crowd! Like at WEG where one of the winning horses bolted because the crowd was so loud.

  • ohh Nick :]

  • 2.25m / 2.30m ?

  • how high is that jump

  • i think it is 7ft 2inch

  • That horse stands in you this way death

  • i love that horse

  • gorgeous horse :)

  • i love russel but arko is the best eva!

  • omg nick skeltons stallions are lush i absolutely love arko and russle! the most gorgeous, performing stallions ever! if I could have a nice colt foal for competing or another filly foal for breeding off arko or russel with my bsja tb...i would faint!!

  • hahahahahhahaha

  • Nick Skelton and Russel are in my opinion the best show jumping pair in the world. If I could breed my mare to him I would freak!

  • nick skelton and russel are the best

  • Americans will applaud for anything. even the bloddy warm-up jump.

  • Seen better

  • i must agree that my horse seems better when people are cheering. i think he knows he's doing a good job :) but that was amazing!!!

  • sérieux le cheval il est balèze...

    et le cavalier aussi d'ailleurs...

mais please les gens hurlez pas quand vous prenez des vidéos on entend que ça...

  • PLEASE LEARN PEOPLE!!!!!! they have ear puffs in!!!! they block out the sound!!

  • i LOVE russel ! he is an amazing jumper ! (L)

  • nick skelton is the best rider ever!

  • people screaming while ur riding is fun it gets ur adrenaline going coz u no so many people are cheering you on gives u a slight edge

  • gah, i would HATE to ride with so many people screaming.

  • nice video.

    that is so amazing

im hoping to go to that show this year ! well only watch lol.

check out my videos : )

    xox

    liz

  • Now seriously people, Americans are not horrible. I'm american and do shows all the time and most of them are quiet. But even the shows that aren't my horse still does just fine! So if you don't ride and you have a comment, keep it to yourself, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. I love my mare and would never do anything to put her in harms way. PS~ great vid.

  • thats crazyyy

    man thats so danjours

peole need to know to shut the heck up when a horse is jummping wow.

  • ahhh that's russel! i'm OBSESSED with that horse- i watch him go every year

  • Oh my God, that was the sickest most ugliest run down to the jump I have ever seen. I seriously thought the outcome was going to be nasty. Esta Milagro!

  • Actually I thought that was an excellent ride to that fence.. the horse clearly jumps from a stride like that. Some other horses would do better to be held off, but this was the right choice for this horse. How can you even debate that when you look at it's performance?

I don't know if I agree with jumping horses that high, but that aside, it was a good ride.

  • o yeah and @ Laurahj, believe me horses CAN jump if they don't want to. A scared horse will, or a horse that knows he will be punished if he don't. It's really easy to make a horse do things becouse they're easily scared and u can make them do things that they actually don't want to do because of that.

  • oh yeah, and for the record, even though the horse cleared the fence, his rider decided NOT to go on to the next round for the safety of his horse. So can you really just judge them and say that they manipulate their horses and force them to do hings theyre scared of?

  • I admit that it's really sweet that te rider decided not to go on to the next ride for the horse's sake, but it happens a lot that riders think their doing good when they actually don't. It simply can't be good for a horses legs to jump this high don't forget that these kind of horses mostly retire very early. I just think that riders should research a bit more to know if they're actually doing good or if they just think they do. But everyone has his own oppinion about things, don't we?

  • @xxxxxvally4everxxxxx However, this horse doesnt look scared at all. Looks more like it was enjoying the fame and its not cement they are riding on... its sand.. therefore, the horses dont land too hard on it. Plus if it was SOOO irresponsible, it would be a sport at all. Showjumping is a sport, a hobby and it can be many things.

Horses are strong creatures... if it really was bad for the horse... showjumping wouldnt be a sport at all .. Puissance is just showing off pure talent. get over it...

  • This is really absurd.

You just chase a horse over such a high jump that's really irrresponsible! And all that noise must drive the poor animal totally scared. And the poor horse smacks on the ground really hard after such a rediciously high jump. Poor thing.

  • these horses jump because they love it. And these types of horses are very used to the stadium atmosphere. If they were scared, they would just throw their rider off and gallop away.

besides, these riders are pros. If their horse didnt want to jump, they can sense it and wouldnt try to put them through something they dont want to do.

  • well said! at lease someone watching this clip has a clue!

  • cleared by miles !

  • i love that horse!!he is amausing!!

  • Flyonthewater.. You have obviously never ridden a horse or you would know that they wouldn't jump fences like that (or at all) if they didn't want to. As for cock fighting, birds are not very bright and you are forcing them to kill each other... How nice.

  • wow that was incredibly witty. I just dont know what to say! Just kidding. Sounded like a 9th graders remark.

    yawn.... assssssshole....

  • yep im glad you can copy&paste =]

but you dont seem to be getting it. Lets break it down shall we?

    cock fighting= animal abuse

    animal abuse= bad

putting videos of such abuse on youtube and expecting not to be torn apart= VERY stupid and bad.

get it? hope you did because thats as simple as i can make it.

  • thats interesting, because you seem to like to promote cock fighting... and us horseback riders dont KILL our animals.

please dont try to get me back for what i said before, you just look like more of an asshole.

  • they cleared that one really well, better than otehr puissance class riders that clear them. and the horse is lovely, he has a really good jump on him.

  • i believe it was about 7ft 2 inch

  • oh my goodness! do u knowhow high that jump is?

  • GOD that's unbelieveable!
