i laugh @ noobs that said bayonetta's combos are pre-scripted, they obviously did not played the game, not to mention there is tons of unlimited combos for each weapon (arround 10 weps) and accessories , there is something called "techniques" on this game that you can buy on a store that allows you do do very different and a lot of combinations of combos, not like devil may cry they get repetitive by using jump cancelling

Bayonetta IMO, the core gameplay really does look like DMC, although saying that DMC gets repetitive is laughable, there are tons of different techniques just for 1 weapon, it would take a huge amount of time just to unlock all the abilities, let alone try them out. And also Dante can change his different classes during combat, so making new combinations are definitely fun and unique, not every jump cancels alone, eh. I'm not saying any is better than the other, but both look awesome.

The demo isnt shown fully, once she jumps on the balcony she can walk further, and meets the monster again. But this time, u kill it. and after that, a cutscene opens about a women (i dunn the name) with a red suit and blond hair, who wishes to 'fight the outcast' which is Bayonetta. They don't really tell why in the demo.. so I dedcided to buy the full game! ^^ Cuz its awsomee x3

The only thing i hate about this demo is that it isn't the E3 360 demo with the clocktower added.

For a comparison. Everything that's in the PS3 demo was in the E3 360 demo (which was insanely fun).

It is developed by Platinum Games, not Sega. The only hand Sega has in this is the PS3 port, which is why that version has many technical problems with screen tearing, frame rate and loading screens.

Just played the demo. it's like a more crazier, creative and bat shit crazy version of Devil May Cry. Maybe i'm not used to OR that skilled with the controls, but it slightly feels alittle on the button masher side compared to DMC. The boss fights are definitly impressive, but i wasn't exactly having that much fun while playing it...Then again i'm not huge on these types of games OR devil may cry. 3D brawlers dont do it for, although No More Heroes was pretty good, but not great.

Bayonetta does seem more button masher than Devil May Cry. The fact you have an "easy evade" button also kind of helps that feeling too.

Overall, I like both games, but this is definately toned down a bit compared to Devil May Cry.

YOu're right, it is a button masher. No jump cancel, too much air time, and pre scripted move lists. Oh, and no different styles.

It's toned down way more from DMC even though the same developer (i think) made it. People think Bayonetta is better or has more combos in store, but they don't realize the small elements in DMC that make those combos possible.

@SilentPhenomed I completely agree. The fact that Devil May Cry had no pre-existing combos made it where you could string things limitlessly together and you had to know what worked in what situation.

Bayonetta has prescripted combos so even a button masher can look fancy (And the fact that you have an instant kill with torture attacks, Devil May Cry had no such crap). I'm still getting the game as it looks fun but, yeah it's not DMC worthy.

Those are Halos not Sonic Rings. The currency was based around the theme of the game. Since Bayonetta is fighting Angels, they leave Halos as currency.

DMC was inspired by the poem Dantes Inferno so the items and currency were themed with Hellish names and looks. Bayoneta was based on something from Scandinavian Mythology so the look and names of the items took on a more Angelic theme.

The same guy that Programmed the code for the DMC games programmed the code for Bayonetta so its there I think. You can blatantly see form the videos that she is canceling some combos mid way in order to dodged. Oh and I think they also added an evasion trigger like God Hand had too. Its the trigger that you use to activate witch mode if you dodge at the right time.

Game looks fun in terms of gameplay but the character Bayonetta still seems as arrogant and as irritable as Dante or the like.

Gameplay also looks slightly more RPG-esqe with the clutter of text and the "Danger" signs showing up, not to say however that's a bad thing.

Do you remember how everyone that sucked a DMC3 would complain about being attacked and having there button mashing combos broken? Well Bayonetta goes out of its way to let players know that there about to be attack when ever theyre not paying attention to enemies that are behind them.

Bayonetta is pretty much addresses all the complaints of the DMC series that come form the Hard Core action gamer and the Causal shity gamer. :P

Staying airborne with Bayoneta is way easier, and this is just a demo, compared to DMC4 gameplay, and i play dmc4 everyday ..no kiddin.

Exactly the same engine and even the same moves..... stingers, 1000 stabs, ebony+ivory attacks.

Shame there is so much clutter on screen it detracts from the action. DMC4 was far better in this category.

Low difficulty of course. It's a demo, obviously, the hardest and most agressive AI's aren't avaiable on i. Probably on the actual game.

The flying ones do attack. I don't know why they didn't in this video. I do see the player spaces out the enemies very well, but give more credit to the player than thinking it's all bs? Also, you have to appreciate the balance in designing an action game like Bayonetta: an opportunity must be given to the player to flesh out combos and have the enemies attack. Watch the video again and notice how much evading the player actually did in this.
