Also, it should be pointed out that no archeological evidence, after 100 years of frantic searching, has turned up to verify an Exodus. It didn't happen. The First Jewish Kingdom arose from the remnants of the Egyptian city-states in Canaan after the Bronze Age collapse.
So the main purpose of Velikovsky, to provide "scientific" explanations for the myths of (particularly Jewish) religion, is moot.
@TacticusPrime There is evidence of a crossing at the gulf of Aqaba and in it are wheels and such and on each shore are a pillar. and more.... these were found c. 1988
@TacticusPrime Or dear, what to do? In exodus it says Moses went to visit his inlaws in Midian and Paul says Moses received the law in Arabia, Midian. I don't have my concordance here so I can't give exact ref. It's not at Horeb. It's in Midian.
@IExposeMormonism But clearly the Jews did not cross there to escape Egypt. Besides, the Midians were a series of tribes who lived in the Sinai and Northwest Arabia. Whose to say Moses' relatives, if he existed, didn't belong to those who lived on the east coast of Sinai?
@IExposeMormonism I have researched it. I used to be an evangelical Christian until I realized how psychotic it is, and one of the pieces of evidence that convinced me was the shocking lack of evidence for any of the Bible before the founding of the Kingdom of Israel.
Velikovsky thought Venus was a "comet" that came out of Jupiter. That's clearly non-sense.
It does seem reasonable to not immediately reject the myths of our past, considering that they may have hidden truths. Perhaps small meteorite strikes can explain some of the stories of our ancestors. There really was a city where Troy was supposed to be after all. That doesn't mean we should get carried away and start throwing out wild guesses with no basis in reality.
So, most scientists believe only modern recorded data is good enough to consider. Scientists and their hubris will get put in their place soon enough...
The audience looks so somber. Velikovsky is awesome for being a true scientist for being logical, using empirical thinking, and pursuing the truth rather than coddling the religious and scientifically dogmatic.
No, washcloud, what I may mean is that you're an idiot who's afraid of the bible and unwilling to read what Velikovsky actually wrote. Bible-beaters were as against Velikovsky as "established science," whose data has been verifying Velikovsky's conclusions for 55 years now.
@danmarino1970 I read it as well to try and disprove what he was saying. As I continued to read the book, I was overwhelmed by the mountain of evidence he presented. I conclude "AMAZING." The previous sixth grader better stick to his level!
"no cientific proof"?? Who wrote this, a sixth grader? V.'s predictions have been proven true far, far more than wrong since he wrote this stuff in 1945. Turns out science was wrong about just about everything back then. And just as arrogant as they still are.

No cientific proof.
Velikovsky simply has no evidencial nor experimental fundament in his theories, while the aprooved theories in science has the experimetal method to support them!
Id like to know why astronomy isnt taught as a subject i grammar and high school. And how come most of these "esoteric books" are not really available in Barnes and Nobles but plenty on politics and comic self help books. And why front page Yahoo is what jaylo or soeone else is doing. I do think there is a conspiracy to keep everyone ignorant so others can gain financially.
The Community College professor at the end of this clip is a hero of immense proportions. This man is a towering beacon against the false academic teachings and light fdemanding truth and freedom from the stifling nigtmare of corporate controlled, establishment science.
Usa`s band Junius honoured him in their 2009 `s album "the martydom of a catastrophis"... totally recommended!

Try "Ages In Chaos" also Velikovsky. Anyone interested should also Google "Burckle Crater". Very interesting stuff.

@IExposeMormonism The Gulf of Aquaba is between Sinai and Arabia. The Biblical account makes no mention of a crossing there.
