You know, at first I kind of agreed with you. At points it sounds completely contrived and forced but once you look at the over all composition it really starts to set in and come together. Is it a perfect cover? No. Is it better than the original? You'd have to be fucking high, we're talking about Iron Maiden here... Is it good? That depends on your subjective opinion of the genre. Is it unique? Absolutely.
