Long ago I went to a avant garde music video film fest and ended up with a VCR containing a live performance of this song, along with Husker Du and the other usual suspects. It must have been this performance. It haunted me long after my VCR tapes went the way of all things!
When Blixa sings "Young woman share your fire with me". I deeply wish he was singing that to me. right now I want Blixa badly despite the fact he's married.
Apparently I ride the short bus. I've attempted to add this to my favorites as least a dozen times. Ahh, to no avail. Anyone else have this prob. Or am I just "special"
Is it wrong of me to fantasize about two men getting it the fsck on when I hear this? Cause I mean if not, screw all the rest of you pink boys. Y'ALL ARE PANSIES! Blixa, I'd screw him six ways to sunday anyday, accept for wednesdays thursdays...
Hahahaha i saw a comedian saying something similar "i have friends who hear somebody is gay they freak out. I ask them what their problem is ? The gays aren't real men, their not tought. Not tough ? They want to fuck men !!
Well, Lee Hazlewood actually wrote it (as so many of "her" songs) but they sang it together... Both versions are very beautiful in very different ways!
I think the bad seeds are going down this road with less extremem methods. night of the lotus eaters sounds like blixa should have stuck around. but EN arehis band.brilliant
I've been thinking the same thing, I think Blixa leaving gave Nick a kick up the ass, because Blixa would fit in perfectly on a few tracks from Abbotoir Blues and most of Grinderman and Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! So much more...noise.
My favourite bad seeds song is "the weeping song". It's the song that made me fall in love with the bad seeds and Blixa had a huge part to play in that. Warren Ellis is doing a good job doing Blixas job, but i miss him standing there doing his thing. He will always be a bad seed in my eyes.
Fantastic and dream-made music. It's avantgardist and dadaistic and weird and sexy and intense. Good shit, worth looking for. Einsturzende Neubauten is a movement, a manifest and an out-of-border message. Good shit!
Wholly irrelevant, but did you all know that when Gillian X-Files Andrson was a 13-year old living in London she was masively into Neubauten? I know, I know, that's such a Comic Store Guy thing to know...all the same, she must have been rather cool.
Wow! As harshly instrumented as that was, I almost cried at the beauty of it. Many musicians go the experimental route, but only a handful of experimental musicians can really master what they do. Bravo!
Well Jet'm is the first cover (on Je T'aime Moi Non Plus of Serge Gainsbourg & Jane Birkin), although maybe it's more appropriate to say it's an adaptation rather than a cover? Not sure, but it's damn charming anyway.

Something like this could only ever be created in Europe. It is just stunning. Superbly artful execution of a fantastic idea.

Hells yeah! They were the first "proper" industrial band I got into, still my favourite in the genre to this day.
Btw, I never knew this was originally a Nancy Sinatra song.

PS Reminds me why a journalist once described Blixa's guitar playing as 'John Cale with no hands'.
