you won't always win against an actually good player. There's more to scrabble than maximizing your score on a given turn, sometimes you want to close up the board other times open it up. Sometimes you just want to block something your opponent is likely to be able to do.

Of course I'm assuming WWF is just scrabble with some board layout changes.
