I was a great advocate for Bill Nelson back in the 1980s but, when Channel 4 showed this series of films, I felt rather embarrassed. Pretentious stuff, unfortunately. BN produced some brilliant music but also a fair amount of crap. His independence from the majors may have had its artistic advantages but he could still have benefited from a more critical editor to filter out the less-than-good material, such as Map of Dreams.
