@MultiStorm15 I found the camera later after the storom was over. In fact the storm was so intenese that i forgot that i had deployed it until hours later. It was so weird sitting down for the first time and watching the video not knowing exaclty what it had just recorded....
@UltimateChase man you guys did a awesome job ,unbelievable. thank you. for your video shows to world the power of mother of nature . greeting from Iran
This looks exactly like Michigan in the winter (but with 4 feet of snow in the ground and no flooding!), and it also looks like in Michigan where you have a huge thunderstorm coming off of the lake there is big gusts!

@sunstarsmoon It was amazing, Once the storm passed the water receeded like someone pulling the plug in a bathtub. The lady was OK, See went up to the 4th floor.
@UltimateChase you are very lucky to be alive. Im from Tennessee and I remember when katrina hit your state. I still feel bad for what yall had to go through and the dead victims. Nashville had a flood once but it was nothing compared to what you guys had.
@UltimateChase Awesome job again Mike. Like I said in the gas station video, this one is my favorite. Hey everyone, watch the gas station video. At 3:08 is when its really intense. Over 160+ MPH wind. It's even noted on wikipedia and Guinness book records as high hurricane wind gust filmed!!!
omg i bet irene feels bad about what she said to katrina lol i had got katrina a longggggg time ago and i almost dround cuz the water in my house was 4 ft :'(
RELIVING THIS AFTER SIX YEARS HAS BEEN....SICK TO MY STOMACH AND MAKES ME WANT TO THROW UP....HOWEVER, SURVIVING.....ITS TIME TO LOOK BACK AND SEE WHAT WE LIVED THROUGH AND KNOW WE HAVE THE STRENGTH TO DO IT AGAIN....BECAUSE WE WILL DO IT AGAIN.
You know I just don't understand why you would put yourself in harms way just to capture a storm surge!? I mean, really? Come on now, give me a break. But all in all, it was a good video.
@TheGodBrothers10 LOL that could be so, but for those of us who lived through Katrina, I mean actually lived through it because they could not evactuate, well tomorrow is the 6 yr anniversary.
@TheGodBrothers10 lol that did not sound right, I didn't mean just us who lived through it... but anyway, for everyone it is a 6 yr road to recovery. And trying to get our lives back on track.
Did you purposely pick this hotel because it was tall enough to be above the storm surge? I can't imagine what you would have done if the hotel was only 2 stories tall.
Am i the only one that thinks Irene is being blown out of proportion? I mean every single news channel has a special on it. Dont get me wrong im happy everyone is safe but there is way more media coverage on Irene then there was with Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was strong i was in west palm beach nd i was so suprised that i saw power lines im lucky the power line in my back yard dident fall and i wanna aee a hurrican again
@werock2785 I didn't even have the chance. My husband had died a couple of months before Katrina hit and I received survivors benefits, I had gotten mine and my daughters checks about a week before it hit, so I paid all of my bills and gotten groceries for the month, by the time we knew Katrina was coming our way, I was completely broke. I even pawned mine and my husbands wedding rings for gas money, by then there was no more gas to be gotten. It was a horrible situation.
climbing over piles and piles of dibris that we found out later that there were dead people under. We kept being told to stay put that the National Guard was coming and they never did. It is a horrible memory, but just very happy that we made it. One of my good friends that I worked with lived behind me. She had been trying and trying to get pregnant and finally did, only to lose both her husband and 2yr old little boy in the storm. It was extremely sad, and to say the least... depressing.
We lost everything we had, including 3 vehicles, and only walked out with the clothes on our back and I thank God every day that we made it through it. It took everything that I grew up around, and all the pictures of my mom who passed away 2 yrs before. It was very devastating. For some reason at first I could talk about it just fine., but as the years go by I find it very hard to talk about without crying. Just like I am doing now. The following day when we walked out of there we were
@MsJadedmind awwWww I feel so bad for you. I don't know what I would do if that were to ever happen to me (God forbid>, to lose your mom ANddd all the pictures of her is Reallly Terrible.
@babyphatgirl9o3 Well mom died a couple of years before Katrina hit, but it took everything that I had of hers, including the only pics I had of her. My husband died a couple of months before and it took everything that we had built up. He had thousands and thousands of dollars worth of tools and all were ruined. It took everything from everyone and I don't wish that on anyone. I had never seen my dad scared, but I did that day.
This storm is a storm that My daughter and myself will never forget. I lived half a mile off the beach in Pass Christian Miss. I had to stay put because I had no money for gas and even if I did, there was no gas to be gotten. My daughter was 7 yrs old at the time. We rode out the storm upstairs on the second floor and still had waist deep water up there. My dad was with us and he has passed away since then, but the terrified look in my daughter eyes, I will NEVER forget.
@tigereyes126 Katrina was a category 5, until it hit land, it was a Category 3. Due to the warm waters of the Gulf, it maximized to Cat 5. Irene is skimming the side lines of land mass & eventually entering entirely into land.
My home town, Bay St. Louis, MS/Bay Waveland was hardly mentioned or shown foottage & we were just as ravaged as Gulfport, Biloxie. We all were devastated along Coast.
Quickly, everyone! Board a plane and fly to Cali, I shall shelter you all here. O: To be in a hurricane, while safe, is actually not bad in my opinion. It's fascinating to watch, but the destruction it leaves behind is tragic... But what right do I have to say this? We get rain (hardly ever), earthquakes, and hot weather. Tomorrow it'll be 101 degrees...
Im 18 and I live in Puerto Rico, I have witness some heavy hurricane like George... But when I see what Katrina did, I feel bless that Katrina didn't passed through PR. Irene went through PR this last days and it was horrible... hope the best of luck for you guys now.
@xXMandieBatesXx Yep, I'm in Eastern NC. Went through Katrina......have been through hurricanes since then but I'm getting myself all freaked out over Irene. Screw it.....we're packing up and driving inland.
@xXMandieBatesXx I was watching because it's the 6th anniversary of Katrina. And anybody who was genuinely scared about Irene doesn't understand anything about hurricanes.
@josh2ee knowing they're 100% UNPREDICTABLE is enough, people probably said the same about Katrina when it approached, but guess what...it only took it nine hours to go from a 3 to a category 5 storm. And What was Irene? A category 3. I bet if it had did the same and took your home away you wouldn't be talking shit.
@mothrabattra They are pretty unpredictable, but not to that degree. They were actually predicting Katrina could be WORSE than what it was (levee breach non-withstanding). I have NEVER heard a hurricaine talked about the way Katrina was in the days leading up. They had govt officials on radio & TV doing PSAs in days leading up saying it is predicted to be the worrse natural disaster in US history, calling it "the Big One" that people down here talk about & begging people to take it seriously.
@josh2ee Oh; I did'nt know that. I was kinda little when katrina moved in. But i was a little scared about Irene and it moved out and right now i am living in a trailer bc of the severe damage done to my house. It might be nothing compared to Katrina but it was still one to remember.
@xXMandieBatesXx No, Katrina was hyped as possibly the worst disaste rin US history. they were on radio and TV for days begging people to leave & to take it seriouusly. They were actually saying it is likey to be "the Big ONe" that we are all told about down here (the inevitable storm that destroys NOLA and the surropunding areas. It was initially expected to hit dead on the mouth of the MS, but shifted east. We though we dodged it, then the levees broke.
@mamacornettesmoney i know. im not saying it wasnt bad. i have a friend that im close with and i heard the stories from her parents and uncle about it bc they lived threw it. I knoow it was realy bad. I was just sharing. Have a good day!:)
@xXMandieBatesXx Yeah, I knew you weren't saying it was bad, but the other person seemed to imply that they didn't warn us as much for Katrina as they did for later Hurricanes & I was pointing out that they hyped Katrina FAR more than I had ever heard before. They actually predicted it to be STRONGER because it dropped from a Cat 5 to a Cat 3 overnight and veered toward MS instead of NOLA. Of course, it was still one of the worst ever & the levees breaching was as bad as it gets.
@YungRell121 Yes, hurricanes bring in everything from the sea. Sharks, Dolphins, etc. DONT WORRY, the wind and the water will KILL YOU before the sharks get to you... ◆✦◆Your body will look like the 1st floor of this hotel room. ✦ Good luck in the hurricane.
It was still a strong tropical storm when it came over Tennessee. I couldn't believe the wind and it was probably the most rain I've seen at one time.

JulieNoWay 6 months ago
lol Mandie Bates, thumbs up.
...I can't believe a hurricane is coming to NYC. I hope we don't get it bad.
Stay safe!

@xXMandieBatesXx I was watching because it's the 6th anniversary of Katrina. And anybody who was genuinely scared about Irene doesn't understand anything about hurricanes.
josh2ee 6 months ago
@josh2ee knowing they're 100% UNPREDICTABLE is enough, people probably said the same about Katrina when it approached, but guess what...it only took it nine hours to go from a 3 to a category 5 storm. And What was Irene? A category 3. I bet if it had did the same and took your home away you wouldn't be talking shit.
mothrabattra 6 months ago
@mothrabattra They are pretty unpredictable, but not to that degree. They were actually predicting Katrina could be WORSE than what it was (levee breach non-withstanding). I have NEVER heard a hurricaine talked about the way Katrina was in the days leading up. They had govt officials on radio & TV doing PSAs in days leading up saying it is predicted to be the worrse natural disaster in US history, calling it "the Big One" that people down here talk about & begging people to take it seriously.
mamacornettesmoney 5 months ago
@josh2ee Oh; I did'nt know that. I was kinda little when katrina moved in. But i was a little scared about Irene and it moved out and right now i am living in a trailer bc of the severe damage done to my house. It might be nothing compared to Katrina but it was still one to remember.
xXMandieBatesXx 6 months ago
@xXMandieBatesXx No, Katrina was hyped as possibly the worst disaste rin US history. they were on radio and TV for days begging people to leave & to take it seriouusly. They were actually saying it is likey to be "the Big ONe" that we are all told about down here (the inevitable storm that destroys NOLA and the surropunding areas. It was initially expected to hit dead on the mouth of the MS, but shifted east. We though we dodged it, then the levees broke.
mamacornettesmoney 5 months ago
@mamacornettesmoney i know. im not saying it wasnt bad. i have a friend that im close with and i heard the stories from her parents and uncle about it bc they lived threw it. I knoow it was realy bad. I was just sharing. Have a good day!:)
xXMandieBatesXx 5 months ago
@xXMandieBatesXx Yeah, I knew you weren't saying it was bad, but the other person seemed to imply that they didn't warn us as much for Katrina as they did for later Hurricanes & I was pointing out that they hyped Katrina FAR more than I had ever heard before. They actually predicted it to be STRONGER because it dropped from a Cat 5 to a Cat 3 overnight and veered toward MS instead of NOLA. Of course, it was still one of the worst ever & the levees breaching was as bad as it gets.

YungRell121 6 months ago
@YungRell121 Yes, hurricanes bring in everything from the sea. Sharks, Dolphins, etc. DONT WORRY, the wind and the water will KILL YOU before the sharks get to you... ◆✦◆Your body will look like the 1st floor of this hotel room. ✦ Good luck in the hurricane.
