  • WOW it was a good thing to rescue the lady when you guys did. It looks like your theiss storm cam .got taken away by the flowing water. How did you recover it??

  • @MultiStorm15 I found the camera later after the storom was over. In fact the storm was so intenese that i forgot that i had deployed it until hours later. Jim Reed and I were so shell shocked and in disbelief of what just happened. We found it half buried in a pile of rubble. We saw the reflective tape and we knew we had it. It was so weird sitting down for the first time and watching the video not knowing exaclty what it had just recorded....

  • @UltimateChase I Think Its russian Job katrina

  • The was incredible... :O The flooding of the hotel reminds me of the movie "Daylight".

  • That shit is insane.

  • Fukin intense. I hate to see ppl in despair but weather is interesting.

  • This looks exactly like Michigan in the winter (but with 4 feet of snow in the ground and no flooding!), and it also looks like in Michigan where you have a huge thunderstorm coming off of the lake there is big gusts!

  • i was in beach there was katarina hurrcane then my ball flew away from it

  • 自然は怖い。自分は簡単に死んでしまう。

  • What a trip! Thank you for sharing your experience.

  • Great video! Amazing documentation, thank you. Where did that car end up? Did it go through the lobby and out the other side?

  • Tu parles d'un bordel ! ! ! !

  • I lost my house in this storm.

  • @UndeadSoldier5454 Sorry about that. :(

  • geobaldi5 i can't believe that someone could survive this terrible storm; respect

  • At the one below me, are you stupid? Like...Did you EVEN watch the whole video?

  • @kevinsinger2

Also, it says in the description lol

  • was this storm in 2010? if its not some one tell me what year it happen ps if it was in 2010 were was i when this was happening ?

  • @ana6740ify

  • I lived, and still live, about 8 miles north of where this was shot.

  • Cant believe how quickly the water rises

  • Good and informative video.

One thing for sure... Dont put your prepping items in the basement... !!!.

  • the camera man is so still!

  • Where were you during all of this? Just standing in the middle of the lobby? You seemed pretty safe, lol.

  • I HATE WATCHIN DEESE VIDEOS B/C I DONT LIKE RE LIVIN KATRINA

  • I gotta hand it to you guys. You are very brave men to stand in the middle of Katrina just to get footage. My hats off to you.

  • @Sarasdad91

brave is for for a noble reason. they are stupid.

  • goes out side o yeah the storm is really coming in now i think we should stay inside goes to do pull's it fuck…..

  • i always thought it hit around day break. I live in Jackson,MS and we lost power around 6am. Never got to see news. Power was restored 4 weeks later and it was all about damage.

  • living after a hurricane is hell -no resources-all is gone-live it-believe it-it is all relative-

  • Wow Irene didn't do anything. New york is lucky. New Orleans got demolished by Katrina

  • Why didn't the hotel take the furnature out of the hotel.

  • This was the scariest s*** ever- we were right behind the Navy home in College Park! Then seeing 90 and access rd GONE....wow. Amazed we all lived to watch this video!

  • oh my good!

  • o, putin

  • My Grandpa Lives In Gulfport, 1 mile off the coast!

I Remember Visiting Him After Katrina.

His House Was One Of The 3 Remaining Houses Standing In

    His Street

  • :O your standin' there and no pissing your pants??? you have some balls!!!!

  • So how and when did y'all get out of there? That lady y'all helped walk to safety what happened to her? I'm baffled because it seems to me like you'd be trapped there like an island with no way out.

  • @sunstarsmoon It was amazing, Once the storm passed the water receeded like someone pulling the plug in a bathtub. The lady was OK, See went up to the 4th floor.

  • @UltimateChase you are very lucky to be alive. Im from Tennessee and I remember when katrina hit your state. I still feel bad for what yall had to go through and the dead victims. Nashville had a flood once but it was nothing compared to what you guys had.

  • @UltimateChase Awesome job again Mike. Like I said in the gas station video, this one is my favorite. Hey everyone, watch the gas station video. At 3:08 is when its really intense. Over 160+ MPH wind. It's even noted on wikipedia and Guinness book records as high hurricane wind gust filmed!!!

  • @sunstarsmoon you a gang banger or sumthing

  • Wow this guy is a champ... out in that weather would have me shitting in my pants! He must have had some nice rubber on his wheels!!

  • omg i bet irene feels bad about what she said to katrina lol i had got katrina a longggggg time ago and i almost dround cuz the water in my house was 4 ft :'(

  • Maybe because if Katarina they didnt want to take chances thank you fir this video it may make oeople take hurricanes more seriously God Bless you!

  • RELIVING THIS AFTER SIX YEARS HAS BEEN....SICK TO MY STOMACH AND MAKES ME WANT TO THROW UP....HOWEVER, SURVIVING.....ITS TIME TO LOOK BACK AND SEE WHAT WE LIVED THROUGH AND KNOW WE HAVE THE STRENGTH TO DO IT AGAIN....BECAUSE WE WILL DO IT AGAIN.

  • You know I just don't understand why you would put yourself in harms way just to capture a storm surge!? I mean, really? Come on now, give me a break. But all in all, it was a good video.

  • everyone is watching these hurricane videos obiously bc of irene

  • @TheGodBrothers10 LOL that could be so, but for those of us who lived through Katrina, I mean actually lived through it because they could not evactuate, well tomorrow is the 6 yr anniversary.

  • @TheGodBrothers10 lol that did not sound right, I didn't mean just us who lived through it... but anyway, for everyone it is a 6 yr road to recovery. And trying to get our lives back on track.

  • @TheGodBrothers10

Irene wasnt shit compared to katrina, Irene caused some little puddles up there in ny and new jersey that's about it.

  • Did you purposely pick this hotel because it was tall enough to be above the storm surge? I can't imagine what you would have done if the hotel was only 2 stories tall.

  • Am i the only one that thinks Irene is being blown out of proportion? I mean every single news channel has a special on it. Dont get me wrong im happy everyone is safe but there is way more media coverage on Irene then there was with Katrina

  • Hurricane Katrina was strong i was in west palm beach nd i was so suprised that i saw power lines im lucky the power line in my back yard dident fall and i wanna aee a hurrican again

  • You should have evacuated O_o

  • @werock2785 I didn't even have the chance. My husband had died a couple of months before Katrina hit and I received survivors benefits, I had gotten mine and my daughters checks about a week before it hit, so I paid all of my bills and gotten groceries for the month, by the time we knew Katrina was coming our way, I was completely broke. I even pawned mine and my husbands wedding rings for gas money, by then there was no more gas to be gotten. It was a horrible situation.

  • brilliant. your videos are so raw . amazing showing the water attacking the building. good job filming these

  • climbing over piles and piles of dibris that we found out later that there were dead people under. We kept being told to stay put that the National Guard was coming and they never did. It is a horrible memory, but just very happy that we made it. One of my good friends that I worked with lived behind me. She had been trying and trying to get pregnant and finally did, only to lose both her husband and 2yr old little boy in the storm. It was extremely sad, and to say the least... depressing.

  • We lost everything we had, including 3 vehicles, and only walked out with the clothes on our back and I thank God every day that we made it through it. It took everything that I grew up around, and all the pictures of my mom who passed away 2 yrs before. It was very devastating. For some reason at first I could talk about it just fine., but as the years go by I find it very hard to talk about without crying. Just like I am doing now. The following day when we walked out of there we were

  • @MsJadedmind awwWww I feel so bad for you. I don't know what I would do if that were to ever happen to me (God forbid>, to lose your mom ANddd all the pictures of her is Reallly Terrible.

  • @babyphatgirl9o3 Well mom died a couple of years before Katrina hit, but it took everything that I had of hers, including the only pics I had of her. My husband died a couple of months before and it took everything that we had built up. He had thousands and thousands of dollars worth of tools and all were ruined. It took everything from everyone and I don't wish that on anyone. I had never seen my dad scared, but I did that day.

  • This storm is a storm that My daughter and myself will never forget. I lived half a mile off the beach in Pass Christian Miss. I had to stay put because I had no money for gas and even if I did, there was no gas to be gotten. My daughter was 7 yrs old at the time. We rode out the storm upstairs on the second floor and still had waist deep water up there. My dad was with us and he has passed away since then, but the terrified look in my daughter eyes, I will NEVER forget.

  • u have guts to film that....i would be bawling my eyes out

  • i would hate not to evacuate from that

  • Thumbs up if your watching this b/c of hurricane Irene.

  • lol Irene is getting you alot of veiws...they are evacuating in my city right now in CT...ill be good though , im not going

  • woah this is like the titanic on land! Hope everyone was okk at that hotel!

  • Everybody in the Northeast and New England. Miss Irene is almost here! Brace yourselves, guys.

  • 8:16 show this & everyone will evacuate from the coast.

North Carolina ALWAYS gets our Florida's hurricanes... sorry

  • Irene will be nothing like this.

  • i was visiting new orleans when katrina hit we only stayed for 1 day then we evacuated but we still got hit hard

  • great wake up call

  • Wow hotels offer beach front roomsnow

  • Incredibly frightening!

Hats off to you brave souls for capturing this on video.

  • admit it guys xD we are all watching hurricane videos because of irene

  • @AikoSeeno yea its true =), im still looking today. Wow Katrina was something else..

  • i heared hurricane irene is coming to philadelphia =(

  • Bring it on bitch, I am ready for you Irene!

  • This was good footage, is Irene going to be the same as Katrina ?

  • @rbuettner100

No, Katrina was a category 5 hurricane - the worst.

Irene is only going to be a 3 at most.

  • @tigereyes126 Katrina was actually a strong category 3 hurricane.

  • fishing time!!!!!! hahahaha

  • eeeh, massachusetts is also getting hit by irene. and poor springfield is in its path! 8(

  • xXMandieBatesXx thats excactaly why im watching this

  • It's like Titanic

  • storm surge in those vids is nothing compared to 22ft in Opal. :P

  • It's a water park!!

  • ah shit irene is coming to newjersey/

  • well everybody wants a beach view now you got the beach coming up to your patio..lol

  • see you sunday irene

  • AHH NYC IS GETTING A HURRICAN HALF MY FAM IS THERE

  • FUCK HURRICANE IRENE IS COMING TO THE DMV!!!!!

  • @lilpapipapi Ha !!! Thanks !

  • you sir, have balls of steel.

  • @911sanatarium category 2 is alot more than half of Katrina

  • irene will only be a category 2 up here so thats not even half the strength of this.

  • My home town, Bay St. Louis, MS/Bay Waveland was hardly mentioned or shown foottage & we were just as ravaged as Gulfport, Biloxie. We all were devastated along Coast.

  • NYC gettin slammed by irene

  • Quickly, everyone! Board a plane and fly to Cali, I shall shelter you all here. O: To be in a hurricane, while safe, is actually not bad in my opinion. It's fascinating to watch, but the destruction it leaves behind is tragic... But what right do I have to say this? We get rain (hardly ever), earthquakes, and hot weather. Tomorrow it'll be 101 degrees...

  • lol Mandie Bates, thumbs up.

...I can't believe a hurricane is coming to NYC. I hope we don't get it bad.

    Stay safe!

  • cant wait for irene's swells got my board ready 8)

  • Im 18 and I live in Puerto Rico, I have witness some heavy hurricane like George... But when I see what Katrina did, I feel bless that Katrina didn't passed through PR. Irene went through PR this last days and it was horrible... hope the best of luck for you guys now.

  • Thumbs up if your looking at these videos kuz u know ur screwed when Hurricane Irene Makes her way up the East coast! D:

  • @xXMandieBatesXx Currently in the Bahamas Waiting !

  • @UltimateChase AH:O Hahaha:) Yepp. Will most likely be moving into florida by tomorow and New england by Sunday night!

  • @UltimateChase Do you know if Long Island, New York is any danger? D:

  • @UltimateChase how bad was the bahamas?

  • @xXMandieBatesXx im in the Va National Guard and just got alerted, so im trying to do my research.

  • @xXMandieBatesXx Oh my God, exactly! I'm scared out of my ass.

  • @xXMandieBatesXx Yep, I'm in Eastern NC. Went through Katrina......have been through hurricanes since then but I'm getting myself all freaked out over Irene. Screw it.....we're packing up and driving inland.

  • @xXMandieBatesXx

Im on the virginia coast. Mandatory evacuation area. Packing up tonight.

  • @MisterBahston Awwh! Im sorry! That realy sucks. Do you know when you'll be able to go back?

  • @xXMandieBatesXx no doubt

  • @xXMandieBatesXx yup pretty much

  • @xXMandieBatesXx its WAYYY over exaggerated

  • @xXMandieBatesXx Why the fuck are you watching videos of Katrina? Irene is pussy shit.

  • @xXMandieBatesXx I was watching because it's the 6th anniversary of Katrina. And anybody who was genuinely scared about Irene doesn't understand anything about hurricanes.

  • @josh2ee knowing they're 100% UNPREDICTABLE is enough, people probably said the same about Katrina when it approached, but guess what...it only took it nine hours to go from a 3 to a category 5 storm. And What was Irene? A category 3. I bet if it had did the same and took your home away you wouldn't be talking shit.

  • @mothrabattra They are pretty unpredictable, but not to that degree. They were actually predicting Katrina could be WORSE than what it was (levee breach non-withstanding). I have NEVER heard a hurricaine talked about the way Katrina was in the days leading up. They had govt officials on radio & TV doing PSAs in days leading up saying it is predicted to be the worrse natural disaster in US history, calling it "the Big One" that people down here talk about & begging people to take it seriously.

  • @josh2ee Oh; I did'nt know that. I was kinda little when katrina moved in. But i was a little scared about Irene and it moved out and right now i am living in a trailer bc of the severe damage done to my house. It might be nothing compared to Katrina but it was still one to remember.

  • @xXMandieBatesXx No, Katrina was hyped as possibly the worst disaste rin US history. they were on radio and TV for days begging people to leave & to take it seriouusly. They were actually saying it is likey to be "the Big ONe" that we are all told about down here (the inevitable storm that destroys NOLA and the surropunding areas. It was initially expected to hit dead on the mouth of the MS, but shifted east. We though we dodged it, then the levees broke.

  • @mamacornettesmoney i know. im not saying it wasnt bad. i have a friend that im close with and i heard the stories from her parents and uncle about it bc they lived threw it. I knoow it was realy bad. I was just sharing. Have a good day!:)

  • @xXMandieBatesXx Yeah, I knew you weren't saying it was bad, but the other person seemed to imply that they didn't warn us as much for Katrina as they did for later Hurricanes & I was pointing out that they hyped Katrina FAR more than I had ever heard before. They actually predicted it to be STRONGER because it dropped from a Cat 5 to a Cat 3 overnight and veered toward MS instead of NOLA. Of course, it was still one of the worst ever & the levees breaching was as bad as it gets.

  • I have a question? do or is there sharks that be swimming around on land during a hurricane? I am really curious or croc's?

  • I have a question? do or is there sharks that be swimming around on land during a hurricane? I am really curious

  • @YungRell121 Yes, hurricanes bring in everything from the sea. Sharks, Dolphins, etc. DONT WORRY, the wind and the water will KILL YOU before the sharks get to you... ◆✦◆Your body will look like the 1st floor of this hotel room. ✦ Good luck in the hurricane.

  • your one brave motherfucker if i were you i would have shit my pants
