CBS' first attempt at competing with NBC's "TODAY SHOW" was this 7-9am(et) program, originally emceed by Walter Cronkite in early 1954, succeeded by Jack Paar that fall. By the summer of '55, Dick Van Dyke had taken over, and was replaced in January 1956 by Will Rogers Jr. and a slightly different format, "GOOD MORNING!".
This is from an 8am(et) segment in early 1955, especially edited for a sales meeting for one of the program's sponsors, The Crane Company. Hal Simms is the announcer.
Used to watch it every morning. I think the Muppets made their TV debut on this show.
