Interesting that Pele chose not to wear bandages - particularly on the hands (it was obviously legal as Chuck was). In Boxing the gloves are'nt to protect the opponents head they are there to protect the hands - if you watch at 7:25 Chuck wpuld have broken his knuckles hitting him on the back/side of the head.that many times

The same is true about the introduction of gloves in MMA! The introduction of gloves actually promoted more striking (and not some kind of "safety" for the fighters!)/

@CtrlAltDltYou It should be the same rules they had in Pride, no elbows ( too many cuts ) , stomps and soccer kicks allowed, the UFC rules favor the wrestlers a lot.

Chuck escaped the full mount here! Pele must have been disappointed to lose that position so quickly. Chuck was good at getting up fast. His hand speed and kicks look flat after seeing Roy Jones highlights. Not seeing must snap and explosiveness here. It's plodding and arm weary.
