Hey man what do you use to record your vocals through a mic while recording? Very cool take on the song btw. I like how you switched up the chords for the chorus

@JackkNapier Thanks mate, yeah, i used a Rode NT1A microphone its ok, and i did it on my laptop through an audio interface and into logic where i recoded it. Garage band would easily produce the sound i got here though as i didn't really use any effects!

@kdavis0660 Once you have your scale, try and break it up into some different patterns, or play it using intervals - thirds, fourths fifths etc... I always think its best to liven up technical exercises and try and make them more interesting, learn some different positions for the scales, play them back to front, over a song or anything :) Hope that helps!

I like your vocals, but there's just something about Julian's raw Vocal Chords that make him so different from any other singers in the world. Your Vocals could easily appear on any generic pop song from the past Ten years, but vocals like Julian's come around once in every generation.

@julesmorton julian just uses a special filtering with tube distortion effect over his voice which make it sound nice and rough :) On their new album he doesn't use that effect anymore on the new album I don't like the sound of that new album, it's too punkrock-ish clean sounding. @julesmorton I guess what I like the best of the Strokes is their dirty garage sound from the first album combined with those excellent songwriting and melodies. The new sound just sounds way too much like any other american newschool rockband. The songs are still great but the sound has no personality anymore. It's just my opinion off course. Maybe I should play that upcoming album over an old 1950's sound system then :)

@bowchikiwawa94 Yeah its just bar chords A major, B minor, D major back to A major then chorus is A major then E major on a string 7th fret or open E fingering then F sharp Minor (7) then D Major. Hope this helps you!! Not sure if i play it like the original but its the right chords.
