Hmmm , well Bob ,I live in Murwillumbah , and it's beautiful . I think your a lot of fun though . When I was a kid in the early eighties , there was a guy named Wayne Magee on local TV that was remarkably similar to you. You obviously worked with him , it shows .
OMG, I've never even HEARD of Wayne Magee - but I'll look into him now! Ta for that. The whole Mur-bah thing is a silly joke, of course - I've only actually driven thru there twice!
Bob you are simply fab, i'm a fan now, especially since I live not too far from Mur'bah, at Lismore, which i guess, makes me 'Lismoronic' or something. Always enjoy your material, thanks 4 sharing!
Fantastic Mark, how dare they remove them from the original show :-) they could have cut out a few ad's hey!! got any more behind the scenes cuts? keep 'em coming..... (your becoming a bl**dy broadcaster now!)
I've got a three-hour VHS tape of the ENTIRE NIGHT - which was exactly 3 hours of studio time - this is from the very beginning (note the time, 19:51!), and the tape goes until they switch the lights off. i haven't looked at it for years - but there's bound to be some fun stuff to post!
So much confusion about Mur'bah... so many laughs FROM Mur-bah!! I'm not really from there, of course, but I can't blame people from thinking I am. These clips were actually filmed in a studio off Carnaby Street, London. ;-)
Ever wonder what Murwillumbah means? I always thought aborigine names were chosen for bland white peoples narrow minds. The town of Mullumbimby is dominated by Mt. Chincogan, a squarish main peak adjoined by 2 smaller ones below it. I found, to my delight, that 'chincogan' is male genitalia, rampant! The erect cock is the highest peak, with the two lower ones representing the testes. I have heard a local bloke say to his restless kids, 'Now don't get your 'chincogans' in a knot!' Cheers Mark!
Bob....you are a genius....seriously genius...I really want to watch you singing LOve is in the Air...please tell me where to go?
