  • klr klr klr klr klr

  • All you haters complaining about lack of content, you need to learn to read. If you could read, you'd see there's an accompanying article that goes with the video.

    Duh.

  • total.. CRAP

  • The DR looks way skinnier than the KLR, but the KLR has a lot better range with the 6 gallon tank. I'm hoping to get a KLR but if I can't find one I'd happily buy a DR. Both great bikes.

  • Piece of crap vid!!

  • Worthless video... nothing to do with the title!

  • lame. i dont know why i wasted my time to even comment on this.

  • 66 people accidentally hit the thumbs up button.

  • It is not my intention to post a rude comment but you shared little if any information about the performance/pros & cons of each of these bikes. You stated you road them & tested them thoroughly but offer no results or opinions. Please include the Honda XR650L in your next test & don't forget to include real results & dialogue about the motorcycles. Please, I'm trying to find a good review of these larger dual sports with little luck.

  • @graemelockieable Go to their web site, they've got a three page article on this. They've also got an article comparing the XR650L, KLR, and BMW G650 XC.

  • @graemelockieable you can't blame them, they make their money from website advertisement. So putting a teaser on here to draw attention to there own website is just good business.i do agree with you though.

  • stupid

  • I guess I missed the vs part

  • Quit fucking making these useless videos!

  • i liked it but it couldve been a little better allways enjoy these vids im a rider of allmost 40years

  • jeep6242

You need to relax. Enjoy life.

People Like me are the reason you can still ride motorcycle and other things off raod.

    Enjoy Don't get upset.

    Your site is good

  • The Kawasaki has a radiator and a huge plastic fairing.

Just a lot of unnecessary junk. At least the DR650 looks and handles like a dirt bike and is easily lowered in the front and back for shorter riders and better road handling.

  • @jodopeg Try riding that air cooled engine in stop and go traffic on the way to the mountain without it overheating. Try getting 60k out of that air cooled engine without at least one rebuilt. Proper water cooling meaning longer engine life in hot conditions... that is why it is there. Looks cook to pass the shop with all the air heads getting re-ringed! The KLR is designed to do everything. If you want a purer dirt bike, get that. Horses for courses, as they say. KLrRdoes all courses well.

  • @thatmonk1972 ,,that's cool. If you like the KL then it's a good bike.

I totaled my Dr650 when some b1tch ran a stop sign and sent be over the hood at 40 MPH.

But I sued her and got $3300 for the bike and a nice settlement on the liability side.

Now I have a Vstar650,,,love this bike, it looks and runs great.

But my next bike will likely be an Honda1100 Shadow Spirit.,,,I'm done with dirt bikes,,I'm 49 y.o. and don't like the thought of riding a bike that puts so little rubber on the road

  • @jodopeg Glad you survived. Were you running dirt or 50/50 tires? I just put on Pirelli MT90A/T Scorpions for better stopping while still retaining decent gravel and dirt manners. Did you make a habit of practicing crash stops daily and scanning intersections before entering? I always ask people such questions to learn what went wrong do I can avoid my own crash. Thanks for info you can provide where we can learn to avoid a crash. PS: Do you AGATT?

  • @thatmonk1972 -I had Micheline tires, very good buy not on an oily street, and I just got off work so I had on my shorts and light shirt.

No helmet either, I wore a back pack and landed on my back, broke both the canvas straps resulting in whiplash neck.

I sued with the help of a a prick lawyer and chiropractor..... :)

  • @jodopeg Thanks for the feedback. You're lucky! I never ride without full armor, boots, glove and helmet. My scooter fender once wrapped around my back axle and I remember seeing a red Hundai trying not to run me over, pavement level... me upside down. I had on a helmet and heavy cloths but it only went 30 beig 50cc. 650cc is more! Hitting pavement with skin makes my skin crawl terribly!! Came off a bicycle going 30 down a hill once. Hospital crubbed gravel out of skin. Healing sucked big time!

  • @thatmonk1972 WOW,,,I know how you feel, I've had my share of crashes too.

But I still love to ride..!

I posted a video response above, check it out and look in my video collection, you'll find my Motored bicycle video there, ans some other silly crap you might like.,

    39cc 28 MPH, and 90 MPG.

I was always broke while paying child support so I rode the Subaru powered bicycle to work every day.

  • get a real dirtbike

  • would you losers relax? that looked like some fun riding. if you're so worried about your time why are you dicking around on youtube? it's meant for wasting time.

  • @kingpinzshop If the video was titled "Fun riding on a KLR..." I wouldn't care. But if a video is titled "Meatloaf recipe" I expect to see a fucking video about how to make meatloaf not a video of some cooked meatloaf with some people eating it. Youtube is for making videos and tagging them with info so people can find what they are looking for and watch them. What is dicking around is falsely labeling the video and not seeing that makes you the loser not me.

  • Agreed. They didn't even review the bikes. There is 2 minutes I'll never get back. Pricks.

  • wtf.....so are you going to render a verdict???? Or maybe say something about the bikes....what bullshit.

  • stupid waste of flim!!!

  • it sucked wheres the comparason??i mean test them.evaluate waste of film!!!

  • you will never get the 2:24 back that you spend watching this video. complete waste of time.

  • you will never get the 2:24 back that you spend watching this video. complete waste of time.

  • So I learned you can ride both bikes standing on the pegs..... Thats it

  • wtf so whats the difference between bikes? HP? speed? gearing? NOTHING

  • DR650 is fine for local rides but get the KLR650 to go the distance.

  • Totally useless. No info what so ever. Lame.

  • lame waste of time video.thanks for nothing

  • and....the verdict was??????????????

  • the title issue with this vid could easily be fixed with a '&' instead of the 'vs.'

  • i love klrs they love oil but man they out perform all dual sport bikes even with my bad tires i thought the video lacked me showing you how to ride a klr on or off the road

  • So how do the two bikes compare !! duh?

  • this isn't high school dude, judging is a good thing here. DECIDE WHICH IS BETTER!

  • Comment removed

  • @NAMTRIP 08 klr 650 which is STOCK and after 3100 miles of interstate travel in 8 days......oil consumption of a whopping .3 quarts. RotellaT 20w/50.

  • @Oso1G Total mileage 14,972.

  • @NAMTRIP I have an o9 and the only time it has used any oil is extended hwy rides above 65 mph. The bike really wasn't designed to turn at 5500 rpm for a long time other wise its fine. It works great to get me to the trail, down the trail and home.

  • The KLR rocks on and offroad! ITS ALL IN THE RIDER!!

  • @MrSupermoto1

    Couldnt Agree more, well said.

  • Very simple, you want a road bike that can go off road, you buy the KLR....

You want a dirt bike that is street legal, you buy the DR or XR-L.

  • perfect explanation

  • they didn't even compare them.. they just rode them and said some good stuff.

  • I prefer my XR650L. It may be tall & air cooled, but I love it! I may be too old to ride motocross anymore, but my XR will still take me anywhere offroad I want to go!

  • @xrrider650 yah all the 650s are tall anyway. XR650 ALL THE WAY

  • Comment removed

  • I wish kawi had made the kdx's dual sports... now that i think bout it is it even legal to have a 2-smoke street bike in the u.s.?

  • THE RED KLR IS FASTER

  • @elliotmotox - hilarious comment. I have a Yamaha XT600 and i've put over 59,000 kms on it without a problem. These big bore dual purpose bikes are low maintenance, comfortable, excellent mpg, and will tackle the hardest of trails. To those interested in purchasing a new bike, do yourself a favor buy a 650 dual purpose bike.

  • big fat things, no dirt bike should have more than 550cc. These are too big and too heavy to be playful with.

  • granted you wont be moto xing 1 but the trade off is justfied with the long haul capes. depends on your needs

  • It would have been much better if they used the same motor as the verseys

  • @stonesharve look at the KLE500 then. i believe its the same engine but in a dual sport frame.

the engine is out of a EX500 ninja i think

  • motousa

. im planing a trip from CARACAS VENEZUELA to RIO DE JANEIRO BRASIL, im buying a kawa but im not sure about the KLR OR THE VERSYS , i was wondering if you can give me some advice?...

  • I like the look of the KLR, having ridden one for a week the fairing is nice, keeps you warm and dryer. But Off road it suffers, not just being heavier, but you self limit yourself because you don't want to risk fracking your fairing.

The DR is a MUCH better buy if you're primarily doing off road riding.

  • i have a klr 650 09 model and for those who say it sux off road either cant ride is just talking crap. i have owned kawis and suzukis all my life both the best japanese models (just my humble opinion) kawasaki definitely got it right with the 09. the stock tires do need to be replaced with more aggressive tread for better off road performance, but has plenty of power without giving up touring performance. the DRZ is a great bike also. prob better on low end than the kawi but klr better crusing

  • Sorry guys, but have you heard Honda's recently produced a new model they call their XR650L??? Like a decade ago. I didn't think so.

  • @omahas9000

Yeah but the XR650 costs upwards to 9000$ the DR is down around 6500$ for the same basic performance and a lighter bike.

  • $9,000?? Not sure where you guys are, but where I live I paid less than $5,800 for my 2008 XR650L.

  • Here in Canada A 2009 XR650 costs around 8500 a new KLR costs around 7500 and a new DR costs 6500.

  • That was as useful as compairing a Gas Stove to a lawn mower. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • where's the rest of the vid Scorsese?

  • this vid was utterly useless if it was designed to help one select the DR over the KLR

  • I totally agree with you. What the hell is the point of this video?

  • you guys also have to realize these are just teasers to get you to read the ARTICLES THEY WRITE ON THEIR WEBSITE.

  • @xplorwest I realize that but if I wanted to read an article I wouldn't be searching for a video on Youtube! They do a piss poor job of getting people to their website (no link no mention of the article). Not one single sentence about about one single fact that is unique to either bike. Nada. ZIP.

That's not teasing it's basically lying.

For every person they got to read their site they probably severely pissed 3 people off for wasting their time. Real smart.

For that I still say FU!

  • the klr is big and gutless no power

  • don't give him thumbs down, I own a KLR, he's right on the highway it is gutless. It's frustrating

  • it aint a road bike you gumba. theres a reason why kawasaki has been making them for 20 years

  • your mom is big and gutless too

  • dr is much better of road and the klr is also good off road, but the klr is much more comfortable on long trips. Remember i'ts what you want to do with a bike that decides. p.s the rider is what makes any bike go to its potential. 08klr owner.

  • Just if you're curious, the Suzuki is better in the dirt, The Kawi is famous for being a long-distance do-it-all kinda bike, but isn't really exciting.

Either one could go to Tierra Del Fuego tomorrow on some pretty nasty roads. Suzuki makes a factory lowering kit for shorter riders, so if you're not tall, that would be the ticket.

  • That song is bitchin'. Write me back and let me know who it belongs to.

  • been thinking about getting a 650, preferably suzuki, but this video doesn't give off any highlights from either...

  • WTF? Where's the comparison?

  • did not help me what so ever

  • that was a waist of time... but i have a 2008 Dr650SE... it runs... on and off road. i ride with many two stoke bikes and there are times where my bike will out perform them... im not a fan of the klr... its good for long distance on-road riding... with some dirt trails...

    thats about it.

  • That was boring. I can not figure out now which is better. Where is this comparison?

  • very non-informative. i was stoked when he mentioned he was in oregon, but that couldn'r make up for this turd of a video. how about an opinion next time?

  • I like Suzuki best

  • What a useless video. These titles are all pure bullshit. No content relating to the title at all.

    FUCK YOU!

  • @jeep6242 i second that bro

  • @jeep6242 you know this is just a preview of what they have on their site

  • @123devinzz1 The video title is not listed as a preview. Using VS implies a comparison. As I stated in another comment If I wanted to read an article I wouldn't be searching for videos. The titles of their videos amount to spam since there is no review content in them what so ever.

  • @jeep6242 Ditto. A useless review..

  • worthless is right,,, not even ANY opinion???

  • what a useless video! they didnt say which one was better

  • OK......and the verdict is?????????

  • DR650, but I'm prejudiced, I've got one.

  • i like the look of the DR650SE better but i think the KLR650 is more what i need for the riding i want done. =(

  • Another super-lame "review" by these guys. Get a grip on reality and put out some info. Watching these guys play around is a pure waste of time.

  • The trails look to be good and solid, not like the sandy roads where I live in the Mojave.

  • that was not a comparison at all; just a picture show.

  • this video review is very poor but the comments are very helpful.

  • Misleading title you fucktards. Should be titled "Lame-ass teaser with shitheaded music to get you to go to our site."

  • the beat at the end sounds pretty good!

  • ik right but get the dr650 its alot better than that kawaski piece of shit cuz it has way to much wieght it prob sucks off roade

  • actually it rides quite nicely despite the weight. i know because i got mine in quite a few ruts and mud bogs. it actually just plows right through it. i love my KLR it kicks ass

  • a little harsh,I have a DR650 and have friends with KLR's... they share a lot of common ground: DR better off road but KLR better as a distance Adv bike perhaps. both great machines!

    different strokes...

  • typical motorcycle-usa review... video and shit music. worthless.. I'll keep reading the brit mags

  • USELESS!!!

  • the kawsaski looks like shit.

  • it may look like shite but u can bet em kick em drive em off a hill and pick it back up and go on riding its y the military uses em

  • wat a bunch of fucking posers, no review just flamboyant shit!

  • This video is useless. They never told the results of the tests!

  • Here in Canada, the Dr650se is the way to go. The Xr650l is $1300 more than the Dr650se, that's insane; basically the same specs. It consider the KLR650 if they'd simplify it. No liquid cooled, no fairing, analogue speedo,etc...

  • couldn't imagine it uglyer!

  • i'll take a v-strom

  • waste a fucking time

  • The klr650 is a great road bike that gets 50MPG! iT'S ENGINE IS PRETTY MUCH BULLET PROOF it's easy to fix and maintain--- it's too heavy for sand and mud but you can run off road trails if you go S-L-O-W!

  • i have owned a KLR650, XR650L, and now have a DR650, for me the DR is the most comfortable, easy to handle on and off road. i miss the ground clearance and travel suspension of the XR, but the DR is more smooth and easier to turn-shorter wheelbase, each bike has its pros and cons-remember to get a skid plate if you ride in rocky trails !!

  • between the KLR650 & the DR650SE, which one will you pick if u were to choose as your steed for a long adventure riding?

  • for long duration touring def the KLR, big tank and comfortable. BUT i would not do any aggressive or technical off road trail riding with it, keep it on pavement and thats a great touring bike, large tank can last about 225 miles.

  • u got that right. plus if someone would pick a DR for a long trip, they would have to slap on a corbin seat, IMS tank & what not.. that would easily cover enough to buy a stock KLR wouldnt you say?

  • yes, for long distance rides, the KLR is the way to go, but off road its not that good, fire roads are fine but dont try anything technical with it. KLR for touring, XR for aggressive off roading, and DR for a little bit of both.

  • So, which bike is better? What the Hell was this video about, Oregon or the bikes? What a waste of time!!!!

  • I agree ihop, I don't these videos always seem like we're only seeing the first half. Where's the conclusion???

  • Aren't reviews suppose to pick a winner? WTF?! Here look at both bikes ride around and then have a look at our logo.

I get it was a plug for the website, but still!

  • ive got ktm 450ccm xDdd

its amazing, that ones suxxx xd

  • agreed

  • I agree, spend another $2800.

  • I agree your all dumbasss'

  • The KLR650 I had was so top heavy with its 6.5 gallon gas tank that maneuvering it in a parking lot was a bitch.

  • nice bikes, shame there is nowhere good to ride them around here.
