But in Chinese culture (Japanese people get the similar ideology) the women thought that was a shame to be in love since they had married- even their partner died. They were conservative in love affair.

And one more thing, Gong Li is a Chinese woman, and she played Japanese characters in this film and Memoirs of a Geisha. Just don't understand why.

Dear Wong...I totally agree, in Memoirs of a Geisha it would have been more authentic of they used Japanese actresses. But I love Gong li and I love seeing her in all these different roles, she is so amazing
