  • ahahahahah and this is an expert village!? ahahah

  • Shit you drum sounds awful...i'm a beginner and my drum sounds better than yours...

  • kakean cangkem!!

  • can someone help me out with what 3 x 4 is

  • It's that cardboard box instead of a snare again.

  • I like that a large portion of the 132 comments made were by people who didn't understand what the guy in the video was talking about. This guys is actually very well spoken and good at what he does; he conveys concepts really well too. Now that said, most of the expert village drum videos (I can only assume that it doesn't get in better outside of this group either) range from terrible, to entertaining (but still bad).

  • we you love rotiyp kkoiyui folyiykpo eutiyoyp toy mas

  • Wtf.. this is not blues..

  • go hit Chicago en catch a blues drummer...learn a thing or two

  • Sounds more like a N.W.A beat.

  • i wish i could click a thousand times on the dislike button.... these fuckers from expervillage just suck

  • You have no clue as to what your doin.Blues are not played with they are felt, and you are not at all one that should be showing anyone something you dont know anything about.

  • what a fucktard

  • 1)take a deep.

    2)clap ur hands twice.

    3)think about somebody u like.

4)copy this to 2 other vids.

    5) look at your hands

  • Although this guy seems able to play drums, he really has no clue about blues drumming. Ive played drums in quite a few blues bands. Whether a song has a 12-bar, 8-bar, or 389-bar chord structure has no bearing on the beat (feel or groove) employed by the drummer. However the groove is almost invariably some kind of shuffle, even if an extremely slow one. I dont know of any blues songs for which the beat played in the video would be appropriate.

  • i dont see why you would put subtitles on a drum video. why would a deaf person even try to watch one?

  • well that is clearly not blues, is it, you twat!

  • yes and another failure in life that should google the word of content its about to display in wiki before even thinking about making a video.

  • That is not even a blues feel.

  • What he played was emphatically not a blues beat. God forbid he play a shuffle or something bluesy.

  • You've internalized the blues? I've internalized your mum! Get out.

  • weak drum beats.

  • Doesn't sound like a blues beat, but it does sound like a nice rock beat.

  • Just get on with it damnit

  • fuck u

  • thank you!

  • eres un pendejo

  • This is NOT a blues beat! You can't just play 12 bars of any old thing & call it a "12 bar blues"! Christ - even a waltz'd have been closer than this lobotomised white-bread funk drivel! WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE ON?!?!?!?

  • This is funk!

  • @pgc6265 What kinda beat would you play to a 12 bar Blues then?

  • @pgc6265 A 12 bar blues doesn't have to be a shuffle...

  • @pgc6265 A "Twelve bar blues" isn't a beat or a groove! It's a song form that consists of three four bar phrases based (mostly) on the I, VI and V chords of the tonic key. You can put a twelve bar blues in any rhythmic context and it won't cease to be a "Blues". He obviously hit the form and the changes. Stop thinking as "Just the drummer" and be a musician.

  • @pgc6265 you could call this BLUES! yes its kind of a funk groove, used a lot in blues (rock) too.

think of 'crossroads' by cream for example. Or a lot of seasick steve songs like 'You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks'.

  • @pgc6265 Well... It IS expervillage

  • this is more a rock beat than a blues beat...just play the shuffle.

  • when it comes to blues i generally think of a shuffle rhythm first.

  • Expert village mainly consists of nerds trying to show off, not much of a "How To" video

  • Filthy lies.

  • How 'bout no?

  • exactly.

  • sorry man learn your rythems. this aint no blues

  • Thank you for this good instruction. It is just what I needed to practice playing along to drums with my guitar and works perfectly in the 12 bar form. Looking for more of your work.

  • Look the guy can't exactly go playing ones and fives and sevens. Blues doesn't have a very typical format rhythmically speaking. It can sound borderline funk when it wants, it can sound like jazz at other times. A walking bass line can drop into either blues or jazz quite easily. Listen again to what he's playing and just imagine some typical blues like progressions. It would work if you wanted it to.

  • you could play a 12 bar blues to that.....it ain't maple syrup blues, it's hyped up a little... I would have gone to the ride during the last several bars before the turnaround....probably why i'm a beginner

  • that ain't the blues.

  • it makes you sad tho doesnt it?

  • yeah, real real sad

  • drummers should be the most fun person to hang out with....this guy looks like a square bear. :(

  • nice

  • Sorry man, I have to agree with these other cats, that's not the blues.

  • that wasnt blues that was samba xDD

  • WANKER!

  • this not and blues! you more for one taken of slow rock.

  • lazy drummer, might as well not teach. AP shit

  • that's not blues!!

  • this is not blues u spaztard

  • cool snare!

i didn't even hear snares in you snare.

  • He just has them turned off.

  • ! theor called beeds

and 2: theres a switch on EVERY snare to make it so they dont touch the bottom drum head in turn you only hear the sound of the drum.

im sorta amazed you dont know that

  • if its for me..

I know a snare has it but i asumed he switched them on becouse i don't know anyone who plays without them.. and what are called beeds

  • It's not traditional and it did say it was rock blues but I'd me more inclined to call it funk.

  • not really blues but you are good!!!

  • Comment removed

  • That's clearly not blues!

  • 12 bars but wheres the blues. noob

  • nice but not blues

  • lol? blues? plz dont teach stupid things... liers noobs ... shame

  • haha wasnt expecting that....looose

  • How is this blues?

  • Thats really not very Bluesy

  • this isnt this bad, im learning it now xD

  • sound...you imbecil loser

  • that was crap you need to play the snare on the 2 and the 4 beats and you can play semi quavers on the splash and occasionally changing the beat on both the snare and splash symbols

  • Yep, that was as blues as it was a windshield-cleaning device....

  • I have a question.... How do you keep the high hat closed when using a double drum pedal? Dont you need your left foot to also keep the high hat closed?

  • You can unscrew the top high hat so it just rest on the bottom one.

  • put ur foot sideways and stomp the high hat with you heel

  • yous are retarded he isnt even using a double kick...

  • you either have to unscrew the high-hat and just let it drop and rest, or you can get something called a drop clutch.

  • theres a little screw on my hi-hat that keeps it down or u can jus put some weight on the pedal

  • there is a hi hat that comes with both peddles and when one is playing the other one is close in your case it seem like the hi hat was close and it was on bass peddle

  • that's not blues ! it's a bloddy break beat repeated , same a s every indie band uses to think they sound good , muppet!

  • uhhh...no, indie music is a lot more boring than this beat.

  • 3 times 4 is 12, good job on your math!

  • The Blues are the roots the rest is the fruits

  • thats a sick phrase man did you come up with that?

  • i saw it on a Blues Dvd Package i bought not so loong ago called The Blues it has 7 Dvds with interviews, Stories, Biographys and stuff and one of the Dvds are directed by Clint Eastwood

  • thats cool i wanna buy it now

  • yeah, that really is a cool phrase! and i totally agree with it too

  • this isn't right, he plays in 4/4 but 12 bar blues is in 12/4 or 12/8

  • Not in all cases, I think he breaks down each bar to make it easier to follow for novice players. You play the 4 bar three times, however, this does sound pretty different to how I play it at jams...

  • funk or blues... it doesn't matter... thanks for sharing... I liked your groove no matter what.... Cheers, GK

  • How's this blues?

  • thats a baddass way of playing it, super chill

  • Oh,so,THIS is blues?

WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON IN THAT VILLAGE OF YOURS?!?

    DOES

    A N Y O N E

    HAVE ANY CLUE ABOUT MUSIC?

  • hey sick!

  • Thanks mate i dont play drums but i can play blues on guitar and wanted to know how we sounded together and it was cool cheers mate.

  • great minds think alike! XD

actually i lie. i'm branching out into drums hahaha but i started with that :)

  • Yeah a lot more funk than blues.

  • Wow...I been recording and playing the blues for 30 years and I must say I have never heard the blues played with a funk groove....Go Figure....

  • thanx for the beats dude.......really appreciated and fun to jam with ya.
