Srichaphan's serve is so powerful, and he also has better forehand and backhand than federer. Srichaphan's forehand is much faster and flatter than federer, so clearly he is better player than federer. I do not understand why other players can not hit forehand fast and flat like srichaphan, if they can do so, they will beat federer easily. However in this match a better player lose, so sometime tennis is crazy.
@chhunvorn yeah sri played energetic, probably at the best fitness in his career since he was always injured. But i guess federer had more tricky shots therefore he won more important points.
Who could ever dislikes that? 2 jerks that have no knowledge about tennis, only explanation... Best points I had ever seen in my life in a single match... No doubts!
i watched srichapan play janko tipsarevic at indian wells and as he watched a forced lob about to be smashed by janko, he tried to yell to break his concentration and it was mad funny
The quality of the shot-making was ridiculously good in this match, Srichaphan was really close but few points decided in the end. And let's not forget, 2006 was year when Federer was almost unbeatable.
Too good this Paradorn, he hit winner shots look like so easily, from both sides at every position. Interesting watching this attacking Paradorn against Nadal
Fed wasn´t actually the one who really showed teeth but again it was just enough to make it thou Paradon could have won allso, he played many levels above what you would expect of someone with his ranking and for sure played up with Roger.
geeez Srichaphan is like, GLISTENING with all that sweat during the first minute of the vid. (and probably throughout) and Fed doesn't even break a sweat. Go FEDEX!!
i'd grab his ass too. that dude is talented and looks damn good. i'm a heterosexual dude and i can't blame his supergorgeous wife, Natalie Glebova, for bein' with him.
man i wish there are more matches like this. pure shotmaking ability from both players attacking all-around tennis and beautiful one-handed backhands from both sides. thats what tennis is all about and not the fucking baseline-only grinding with two-handers that is the world tour becoming
there are occasionally that kind of matches but certainly not involving the guys that are considered the face of modern tennis(save for federer). i can point our this years ozzie 1R gasquet vs youzhny, last year ozzie 3R gonzalez vs gasquet, 2007 USO 4R blake vs haas and federer vs lopez. however there are too few and its a shame

Oh my god they told me that federer is world number one and they consider him as greatest player in history, but after I watch this match I think he is just rubbish player, because his forhand and back hand compare to srichaphan is really weak because it really slow. Yes he is world number one because other player are weak NOT because he is strong.
You can't judge a pro like Federer based on one game when he's not even at his peak. Watch federer's backhand line drive and you'll see what true power is. Controlled and deadly.
if other players are weaker then him, he would obviously have to be stronger. hes #1 because hes stronger and because hes stronger other players are weaker
yeah what happened to the token asian guy on the ATP tour??? he was sick, always an underdog, but this match was amazing. I was never sure who was going to actually win. amazing forehand!!!
He was hardly "always an underdog", back in 2002/2003 people were talking about him possibly coming up with the goods at the AO or USO and maybe winning one. But he had injury problems and since 2007 he's been screwed over by a wrist injury amongst other things.
@ParkParkParkPark lol im thai and where i practice i see paradorn roll in his lambo gallardo and ferrari f350 everyday hes still fit but well he hasnt played for a while.
Thanks for the upload. I really love his style too. I'm a Thai guy living in Bangkok. What I know about him now is he will be getting a wrist surgery this month. And I met him in person last month in the book store as I would say that he is still in good shape and rides Harley Davidson.
I think he is still active but i'm not too sure when he's coming back. He was injured before but he should be fine now so I dont really know what he is doing now. I knew that he married Miss Universe and became presentor for some products in Thailand. And has had some gossips with Thai celebrities. BTW I really want him to come back and play again even his peak performance might has passed. He's the best player in Asia ranked highest at No9 the only player from Asia who achieved top ten.
Pushing the almighty Federer in 2006 like this means that this guy really has a raw talent

It's got nothing to do with strength, but SKILL. There are plenty of guys with more strength than Fed, but few, if any, with more raw talent.

Thanks for the upload. Used to love watching Srichaphan play, yet there are very few vids of him on YouTube.
He had such effortless power and touch with his ground strokes. I can't remember him playing a boring match, it was always spectacular.
Think he is retired now though, shame cos he could always mix it with the best players like Federer.
