There is no such thing as "I can not find a job", as college graduates are aiming way too high. There is lots of work available, such as scrubbing toilets, waiting on tables, washing dishes, working in construction and sweeping the parking lot. If you want a job, aim real low and do not ask for more than minimum wage as you will not get any more money!
9 % in young unemployment? Compare that to the swedish numbers: 21%. This is pathetic. Young people should avoid colleges and universities. If you want an education, then go read books in the library for free. You will not find a job anyhow so why waste the money? If your country doesn´t value you, then stop value your country. Being patriotic is not a superb answer anymore.

What is even worst then being unemployed is when you are finally called for an interview, you are all excited, the people that do the interview talk to you like they want to hire you, then you leave with some kind of hope, only to find out couple of days afterward that they found someone else, or they might simply not even answer your call when you inquire about your status.
They should join army. If the army reject, you can join CIA and just echo propaganda they created to them or ... repeat whatever they like to hear as you do in school. If they also reject, you can join Al Qaeda (a subsidiary of them only), get some training and just do the same shit they do in CIA. You shouldn't have problem paying your rent. Of course, you have to be reasonable. There are many people lining up for those positions.
i graduated May 09 with a BS in business admin and haven't gotten anywhere due to little experience...you think ima go for my masters? for what? it's hard enough and ppl are looking for aggressive & assertive ppl to work for their companies not reserved people. What people don't realize is MY Generation is going to be one of the most ruthless. We are all burdened with no job market and a huge deficit to pay that WE DID NOT CREATE. How older generations expect the youth and young adults to pay for something we didn't create is ludicrous. Especially when you can't even get a business loan, or a credit card unless your in the higher class of parents who supported their children. Being in that class.. what would you need help for anyways? fucked up.
If you have student loans and you can't pay them. Get them on the damn phone and seek an economic deferment. If you can pay something, get an income based repayment plan. Don't hide from the Dept of Education, call them immediately. Don't be an idiot and default.
I have an employment opportunity available at my company. It's a hip-hop record label; so, I am looking to build a street team of professionals to help me make my business a success. I am looking for Public Relations Counselors, Marketing Representatives, Lawyers, Songwriters, e.t.c. Send inquiries to Atheos Records, LLC. You can search me over the internet. As long as you got an Associates degree I will hire you as an independent contractor. Applicants who live in Miami, FL need only apply!!!!
Don't worry thanks to the GOP the unemployment rate will go down.Nobody will be able to collect it we will just have alot more homeless people.Welcome to the good ole USA now a third world country.
a lot of college degrees are worthless anyway. I guess they aren't worthless if you look at it terms of learning, but they're worthless as credentials in whatever field people are trying to get into. College like many other things, has now been dumbed down and turned into a scam. I mean, George W. Bush graduated from Yail, so I guess the scam has been going on for a while. That being said some careers do demand a degree, like being a doctor or an engineer. Anyone can get a degree for anything
Clearly the problem is that money is not balanced. The problem is made up of the following stockholding groups in the following order including but not limited to bankers, stockbrokers, appraisers lawyers, doctors, medical sales and basically anything else that is way overpriced and out of balance. The rich won't give it back or even share as a child starves on the sidewalk they can drive-by in a limo, Mercedes or sports car and not flinch.
Suprise suprise, back in the 1980's there were tons of people who had two degrees and could'nt find a job..This is why sometimes going to a tech for a fast inbetween career is more useful that a degree,
A jobless recovery isn't a recovery, that's the myth. The same people who are saying this is a recovery are the same people who said in early 2007 that the housing market is sound. The only way to have a recovery is to do the exact opposite of everything the government is doing. Yes, that means cut taxes and spending drastically.
ummm....i'm not saying this recovery is real or that obama is doing everything right. but c'mon!! we were cutting taxes for the last eight years and it did not work!
right, but you can't just cut taxes then print or borrow the difference or what you'll have is inflation (which is also a tax). I'm just suggesting that if a recovery is to take place there needs to be massive tax and spending cuts. We are now suffering from all the bailouts and stimulus from the current and past administration. This is the real reason there is no job growth except in government.
abstinence is 100% but I agree, if u cant keep your legs closed, birth control is a must.
Then again, they spend all this money to get an education & when they get out, they cant even use it. All the studying & for what? To struggle at a minimum wage job. Hate to break it to ya, but you could have read those books yourself & worked a minimum wage job without the college debt.
The problem is that colleges are businesses now. They went from educating ppl to making as much money as possible.
@diah4 Yep got my X-Ray Tech certificate through MDH and payed 20k for it, 5 grand out of my pocket. Was working for $10 before I went to school. Graduated with a 93.6% overall and can't get a job worth crap in that field without another post secondary education. Now I can't even get a job and I'm making $10 an hour less than I was and have a $10 grand school bill to pay.. Such a lovely investment.
They say people only go to college if they don't know what they want to do for a future. College didn't do anything for them either, just fucked it up more.
@diah4 I know, they don't factor in the possibility of getting a job into the quality of the education. For me, after I got my degree, they kinda just sent us out on our own without helping us get jobs or networking or anything like that.
You fucking dumbshit maybe you have a short term memory but Obama came into office with the problems from the Bush administration, it's not like the economy was fucking brilliant and everyone had jobs 9 months ago. Jesus christ.

If you own or run a business, you can't expand and hire now if you wanted to. After Obama spends 2 Trillion dollars on health care, his next goal is Cap & Trade. This bill will transfer over 2 million American jobs to China and India and destroy American competitiveness in manufacturing. This UCLA grad better consider staying where she is for a long time.
Yeah, I really dont see the incentive under this system of working, have your labour stolen from you to pay banker gangsters, and eating Macs for the rest of your life. There must be something better than this. ???
