This is a great example of Hollywood excesses and overkill at its finest. A special effect that served absolutely no legitimate purpose done just for the sake of doing it. Thanks for the vid, wow I like how it explains the different bits layered up to get the final effect. Behind the 'crsytal' it looks totally authentic. They did great work! What an amazing thing to have technology that lets a process like that happen, regardless of the movie's value.

@Thunderstormwitch Brando may have been amused that his likeness lives on through technology, but he would have been thoroughly displeased with the fact that it was used to further the Superman franchise. His presence in Superman II was removed entirely because the producers were too cheap to pay him... and the movie suffered accordingly.

I remember watching an interview years ago with a producer(cant remember which one)who said that one day computers will bring long gone actors back to life. I remember at the time he said it will be possible for a young Gary Cooper to star with Sylvester Stallone and you wont know the difference. I think that day is already here. Marlon Brando would hate this. It's really amazing, (although also rather morbid), but it pretty much represents everything Marlon Brando was against. What made him such a good actor is that he was so real and human. He hated the whole glitzy Hollywood scene.
