  • well good news is that superman's next movie's writer is Cristopher nolan.

  • I always thought Jor-el was God, and at 2:22 we see the Trinity!

  • @razorfenup - Thank you!

  • He's morphing into Burt Reynolds in Boogie Nights.

  • This is a great example of Hollywood excesses and overkill at its finest. A special effect that served absolutely no legitimate purpose done just for the sake of doing it. Waste of time, money, and effort just to let the tech guys and the director get their jollies instead of focusing on making a better movie.

  • Brando would have been perfect for Lex Luthor.

  • Now that I think about it, I don't think I remember him.

  • Thanks for the vid, wow I like how it explains the different bits layered up to get the final effect. Behind the 'crsytal' it looks totally authentic. They did great work! What an amazing thing to have technology that lets a process like that happen, regardless of the movie's value.

  • Kinda funny how the one guy who came back from the original movie had been dead for several years

  • Awesome job!

  • He'd certainly remember you by now Jor-Brando, they could have at least let him finish the line..

  • What is the music playing in this clip?

  • 2:26 oh god what the fuck my brain!

  • Brando received more money for this short appearance, than Christopher Reeve did in the title role. Do the value math :)

  • so all that effort for it to match the lighting and make it believable... then they completely obscure and decolorise it in the movie???

  • they had to remodel the whole face?? why not just add a CG mouth expression to his face?

  • is it me or do u find this disturbing with the repeated lines and music? O_o

  • superman returns was horrible...give me my fucking money back!

  • @Thunderstormwitch Brando may have been amused that his likeness lives on through technology, but he would have been thoroughly displeased with the fact that it was used to further the Superman franchise. His presence in Superman II was removed entirely because the producers were too cheap to pay him... and the movie suffered accordingly.

  • @PennyDreadfuI If the money was right Brando would have approved.

  • ZORDOOOOOONN!!

  • Too much.

  • YOU ARE NOT THE REMEDY!

  • Ya the movie kinda sucked..but having grown up with the original, it was nice to the way they incorporated the old movie with the new, using original footage, and music.

  • awesome how-to video. Thanks for sharing!

  • I guess this explains the film's overly inflated budget.

  • Such awesome special effects wasted on a crappy movie.

  • @Gilgamesh149 Agreeeeeeed

  • Hi Brando fans! WWBD, what would Brando do? He would want you to support the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where he studied with the legendary Stella Adler. Please vote for us in the Chase Community Giving challenge on Facebook - in the name of Marlon! Log in, find Chase Community Giving, Become a fan, and search for us - the Stella Adler Studio of Acting (New York). Please vote and spread the word by telling all your friends/fellow Brando fans to vote - thank you!!!

  • They also should have used this on the Superman character since theres no Superman better than Christopher Reeve and never will be.

  • Marlon Brando é o caramba! é o Cid Moreira!!! é fantástico!! kkkkkkkkkk

  • e agora Mister M?

  • Boa Noite.

  • Cid Moreira rules

  • Marlon Brando was much better than Gregory Peck was

  • Imagine where you could take this kind of technology. Actors born years apart in the same scenes at similar ages.

  • "You do not remember me"

  • Hey I recognize the music. Its from "Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines." The begining when it shows the TX when she gets pulled over by the cop.

  • Was Brando's estate or organization get any sort of monetary compensation for using this footage?

  • Special effects scare me today how good they can get...wow.

  • JESUS THAT WAS CREEPY

  • COOL

  • a bit scary how realistic it looks

  • Ator maravilhoso e homem lindo.

    - Pena que o destino, além da morte, é envelhecer, é claro@@@

  • Marlon Brando and Laurence Olivier (allegedly the two of them were lovers)both had the honour to be redirected by CGI, but personally i wish it was for real, there is lot of shit young actors out nowadays in Hollywood

  • creepy music...

  • Why did superman put his underwear outside instead of inside? Most superheroes did it. Could you guys tell me?

  • It's because that way he doesn't need to change his pants so often. Tights get ladders and have to be replaced often, so they are expendable.

  • Because Superman wasn't "most superheroes"! ;)He was the shiznite--he could do anything he wanted to beCAUSE he was Superman.

  • Brando would HATE this. He's turning in his grave.

  • @Indubitably14 how would you know something like that ?

  • @specialK312

Of course I don't KNOW for sure. But judging from his personality, he didn't even like Superman and just did it for the money.

  • @Indubitably14 YOU SAID IT

  • @Indubitably14 No, if his estate was paid Brando would have approved. He was motivated by money. Pay and he'd play.

  • @Indubitably14

Brando would love the techonology but youre right.

  • @Indubitably14 Why?

  • @Indubitably14 Brando may not have liked this, but I loved it!

  • The implementation looks so real, but what a waste because all the hard work for a shot that only last less than a minute.

  • Wow, what a waste of time an effort for such a shitty film.

  • shitty criticism

  • RIP marlon brando

  • Don't know what people are talking about old actors giving new proformences for. All they did was get some old footage of Brando, and stretch it over a 3d model....Looked good in the movie though.

  • boils2 wat a c**t tbh

  • Amazing work. Not something many I think would mention but I actually like the musical score for this. Very intense. Is it taken from a movie? I can't believe they would put that much attention to the music for a animation demo, but maybe I'm wrong.

  • Yes this music is so intense. I've watched it so many times just for the score. I too would like to know if it's from something. I also can't believe they'd put this much effort into a tech demo.

  • dude you replied to yourself.

    ....:-/

  • yeah I did. lol I totally forgot about my first post and thought it was someone else's. I saw that right after I hit reply. lol

  • LMAO!!!

  • Omg, that was hilarious xD!!!!*thumbs up*

  • LOOOOOOOL

  • The Music is from Terminator 3 Ironically a movie that was lacking in the Soundtrack side only playing the classic Terminator theme over the end.

  • very nice WOW!

  • yes, i do remember you.

  • It's realimation.

  • Now that's dedication!....how soon realistically until a virtual performance can be sustained for 90 minutes? Can we look forward to new films from dead movie stars in the future?

  • the movie heath ledger was working on at the time of his death, is rumored to be finished in animation, his scenes of coarse, hopefully it has this level of dedication

  • sidefx houdini and voodoo (a rhythm & hues inhouse tool) were used.

  • hotdave - which is your favourite Marlon Brando album?

  • PLAY LOUD IN APARTMENT!

  • GOOOOOODD DRUMZ

  • NO NOB U KRAFTWERK GOOOOOODD DRUMZ

  • NO NOB U KRAFTWERK GOOOOOD

  • BRANDO NOT PITT BRAD!

  • How much money would Brando have required just to use his LIKENESS?

    Singer got lucky...

  • cool

  • Back the dump truck up...put out the orange cones...get the Hazmat people in here and let's clean this shit up...the title of this shipwreck should have been titled OCD with no talent

  • boringgg??

thats a hell of cg work, amazing!

does anyone know which company or whi did this?

  • That's "Rhythm and Hues"

  • COOL. Unreal what they can do. The soundtrack in the back makes this clip even more intense! Loved it.

  • fuck you and your rememberance..

  • fine i get it, i dont remember you

  • you do not remember me

  • you do not remember me

  • you're still a total guitar noob like in the kirk hammet

live solo. I will make a video of much of an idiot you are. Byebye

  • utubeman4 - i think you mean duff mckagan

  • Bring back the young Marlon Brando and put him in the movies he should've done if Brando himself wasn't all Budda-like.

  • creepy

  • Yeah this freaks me out =/

  • I remember watching an interview years ago with a producer(cant remember which one)who said that one day computers will bring long gone actors back to life. I remember at the time he said it will be possible for a young Gary Cooper to star with Sylvester Stallone and you wont know the difference. I think that day is already here. Some of the computer animated films are amazing. Still..give me the REAL Brando anyday..lol. Good job though

  • haha porn with monroe would be sweet

  • lmfao agreed.

  • the biggest filmstar is still alive, i love this, keep it real!!!

  • WOW!

  • you do not remember me.

  • You do not remember me

  • very nice

  • You do not remember me

  • what next? porn with Monro?

  • You do not remember me.

  • Wow, that's crazy. Very cool.

  • Graverobbing! where did Marlon's fee go?

  • Why couldn't they bring back Christopher Reeve this way????

  • crazy shit...

  • Not really. A half-done job will give you a noticeably shabby result. Whether ice-hidden or not.

  • It's great an' all but, you don't really see too much detail when he's behind all the crystal, so what was the point in all that compositing, CGI, and digital manipulation? It was almost a waste of time and money. Money they could have spent elsewhere.

  • This was truly a remarkable feat of visual effects wizardry. I agree with jalabi99: Rhythm and Hues definitely deserves an Oscar for this astounding achievement!

  • This goes beyond glitz!! This, and many other factors pay direct tribute/homage to the original films.....

  • ...WOW

  • holy crap! they are freaking awesome animators! Amazing!

  • pretty interesting, thanks

  • Marlon Brando would hate this. It's really amazing, (although also rather morbid), but it pretty much represents everything Marlon Brando was against. What made him such a good actor is that he was so real and human. He hated the whole glitzy Hollywood scene.

  • Too bad he passed away =[ =( At least he is still reconized as one of the greatest actors who ever lived.

  • heh, nifty

  • You do not remember me :)

    Great clip!!

  • Here's the original with a larger picture and better sound quality: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=23646

  • Amazing

  • great job

  • they say that the more expensive thing in Richard Donner`s Superman (1978) was to pay Brando his little rol in it... i guess the inheritors of Marlon will draw again a little byte of the budget of this new version.

eh, de work of these digital artists is impressive :O

  • There's only one word to describe this result: BRILLIANT. Rhythm and Hues should get a technical Oscar for this one.

  • Impresionante!!!

  • Wow! Amazing! It's perfect!

  • wow!

  • This is completely freaking awesome.
