  • so, that means cursive italic is better than formal italic?

  • I don't know if I'm the only person in the world who actually prefers a scratchy nib. I just love the sound; it's meditative.

  • @AtSwimTwoBricks Actually, You really are not the only one who like scratchy nibs. Fountain pen users don't use the word "scratchy", but "nice feedback nib" or when we refer to italic nibs we can use the term "crispy italic", that is a nib with a lot of line variation, but not so smooth as a cursive italic nib. For example, Montblanc 146 and 149, Aurora nibs are known by their feedback. On the other hand, Pelikan Souveran nibs are known as buttery smooth nibs,
