Fountain pen users don't use the word "scratchy", but "nice feedback nib" or when we refer to italic nibs we can use the term "crispy italic", that is a nib with a lot of line variation, but not so smooth as a cursive italic nib. For example, Montblanc 146 and 149, Aurora nibs are known by their feedback. On the other hand, Pelikan Souveran nibs are known as buttery smooth nibs,
so, that means cursive italic is better than formal italic?
