  • I got a video of the bats up in Round Rock (about 15 miles north of the congress st bridge. Check it out on my channel. The round rock colony is now larger than the Congress st colony, its incredible to watch them coming out. Better view and just incredible contrast against the sky.

  • They are all vampires on their way to New Orleans for the night.

  • Bats are really gay.

  • i was there yesterday as well, seemed like they waited a little too long to come out so they were hard to see...

  • 7:30. I was there yesturday. It was awesome!

  • at what time does that usually happens

  • As the sun sets, or just before... A good half hour or hour before it turns dark...

  • @Babiesuck666 you mean the bat poo that can be used as fertilizer?

  • You think we wouldn't have mosquito problems anymore...

  • @topsy420 lol so true.

  • ahh i love bats so much! ive never seen one in the uk but i saw one whilst i was on holiday. they are my favourite animal im so jealous of you! haha

  • So I would think that town has no more bugs. lol. very cool man.

  • No kidding.

Bats eat mosquitoes like a pothead consumes Fun-juns on a Saturday night.

  • just one more reason why austin kicks ass!

I guess all those bats were heading to 6th street for the drink specials! lol I've made many trips to austin for visits and I didn't even know about this. looks like I will have to make another special trip to see this. do people gather on the bridge everyday during the summer to watch this?

  • love4 bats

  • Hope they wore raincoats. lol

  • hahhalol

  • I went Monday and Tuesday night, and this didn't happen. They all just kind of sneaked out. It was sort of disappointing, but it had been raining so I guess they get confused by that?

  • Bats are awesome! NO matter where you live; here in Canada, they're our best defense against West Nile. Never hurt a bat, celebrate them like you folks in Austin, TX., did - I'm proud of you all!!!

  • Thank you, Canada647. I love my town Austin, but I have always appreciated and loved Canada when I vacationed there.

  • i agree but in some weird country they eat bats and kill them alive!!!
