i love this my highschool band played this im in the middle school band soooooo we are not consider as advanced as they are but im ordering the sheet music for this song and cant wait to play it
sounds pretty good. Did you guys ever pick up the tempo?
Maybe you should try playing for another band or something. I recently just started playing with The Royal Canadian Artillery band ( at least i think thats the name). But one of the best bands in all of canada.
Try getting somewhere else. not only playing in one band. =D
are you serious? You played this in 8th grade? Dude, this is a highschool piece (not that a junior high can't play it) but still it is a little advanced for junior high (or middle school for you maybe).
wow, the trombone player near you had a nice sound, and your sound is beautiful. Yet the trombone sound is what fleurs me. You are really good, your sound is real rich.
still wrong, a euphonium may have either 3 or 4. A baritone has a smaller bore and is more cylindrical than a euphonium, as well as sounding brighter.
Yeah, in my region band I was first. Though we were the bottom concert band... :-P I made 7th euph over all which got me that spot. (-_- Epic fail after I got 1st over all last year!) But it's all cool. I got all those solos which made it alright.
Holst, Grainger, and many other British composers wrote parts for both euphonium and baritone. As has been pointed out, they truly are different instruments, just as a cornet and flugelhorn are different instruments. And the British particularly treat them differently. This is especially notable in British brass band music. but a lot of the concert band music does too. In the US the distinction has not been made except for British-style brass bands.
are u retarded first of all grainger is not british he's Australian and second he wrote mainly for saxophone and French Horn, which to him represented his parents, his dad is the French horn and wrote odd and clashy parts for it cause he hated his father, and his mom is the sax thats why most of his tunes have beautiful sax parts cause he was in love with his mother
this is not your 321-Euphonium, right?

Nice, I love that solo, but I think you're flat. You should try Pantomime by Philip Sparke, i'ts the best euphonium solo I've ever heard thus far.

I'm currently trying for this solo, can anyone please help me with ways i can improve tone quality?
Siferess 1 year ago
@Siferess Air, breath from the diaphragm. Keep a constant buzz, and use lots of vibrato.

kelsinichelle123..
use fourth valve and blow though it!!
its much more in tune rather than 1st valve.. and easier to hit with 4th!

What a pleasing solo, and nice job! I thought Holst wrote for Tenor Tuba (Euphonium), not Baritone. What is this labeled as?
Drworm89 3 years ago
that IS a euphonium...
porkboi 3 years ago
I know that's a Euphonium, porkboi. I'm talking about what the part she's playing labeled as. PianoSarah, herself, calls it a "Baritone part".
Drworm89 3 years ago
Oh, ok lol. Disregard me then. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

haha. calling him porkboi makes you sound mean. haha.
