Two things. First of all, I love her sweatshirt. Second, some people don't realize how tough it is for a wife to leave her abuser. In Beth's case, Tim had a steady, good paying job and she didn't. Courts won't allow spousal abuse as grounds for custody, so Laurie would've gone to Tim in the divorce. In other cases, abusers make their wives feel useless without them and dependent on them so they won't leave. It isn't always as simple as up and leaving.

The whole notion that "strong character" allows people to "stand up to" oppression is nauseating. it creates unnecessary martyrs.

She said she and a few others didn't believe the domestic abuse story because a black woman would have fought back or walked out. He's a professional football player but they're going to fight back? Right. I didn't follow that story very closely, but my overall impression was that there was enough evidence to convict even without the glove and the domestic abuse.

@Brooke684 im in reno nv and down here in your first 23 hours u get ten free mins for as many phone calls as u want then u have to wait untill this thing that they call tear time were u come out ur cell wach tv make phone calls or what ever but u get 1 hour out ur cell then u go back in but in nv u get that first ten mins in the first of the 23 hours ur in there if u dont take ut ten mins with in those 23 hours then u just have to wait untill tear time

Where I live, the County "Prison" (really, a jail) there are "pods." These are where people are secured according to the status of the crime, violent, petty, etc. Well, women only have one pod, but they're allowed out all day, if they want. Only the girls in "max" have that "in-out thing." I guess it's different everywhere?
