@computerphonenow yeah - definitely an element, but we tried to pair these with the grinders that they are most often sold with so that people could see that part of it, too - Kat
The Rocket and Oscar both would have had better times if she pulled the shots while steaming.
I just had some guests over this past weekend and taking my time, 4 lattes didn't take me much time at all on my Rocket. Next time I'm making 4 (don't wanna waste my precious coffee), I'll time myself.
I'm not criticising the beautiful Jess though...she did a great job :)
@aesonvirus We generally pull the shots right near the end of the bringing up to temp portion of steaming; but def you could synch up that time a bit by pulling at the same time, although not much. ;) - Kat
Hey! Do you remember the pitcherless boy from Brazil? Haha, i got one!!! From a flavorings store in São Paulo, its the same as Jess is using. I'm very happy with my beatiful pitcher, but I still need a new machine, mine has a very short steamwand :(.
@luizzzzzzzzzzzzzz Great to hear!!!! We are now shipping out accessories internationally, so if you need other stuff you can't find in Sao Paulo, check out our site :) - Kat
Minimally, but we paired them with the most common grinder that is purchased with that machine in order to more accurately represent the time it would take - Kat
I thought lattes were just steamed milk, no foam. Those look more like cappuccinos. ;)
Also, I never noticed how how beefy the Silvia's steamwand is. It's nice and thick, compared to my Ascaso's wimpy wand. Ascaso needs to make a beefy wand upgrade. ;P
@jdharding2 Hahaha, well there is a bit of foam in lattes unless requested otherwise, but some of these had crazy amounts! :) I don't know if Ascaso will ever beef up their gear...it'd be nice if they did. - Kat
I can use the Silvia and serve my guests coffee fast because very few of them drink coffee with milk and even my father who uses milk rather like a dash of cream in his coffee than steamed or foamed milk or cream(half and half not available in Iceland).
i have the Silvia and didn't catch what Bunny said about why it's slow. if making 3/4 latte's or cappucino's do you pull one shot at a time and then do milk/foam for two and use the same heated pitcher for the rest with fresh milk? or use a second cold pitcher?
@tinbiscuite We recommend doing each drink independently - steam the milk, cool down the machine, pull the shots; then again for each subsequent drink. - Kat
haha lattes that look like rorschach tests.

@chimaera2695 Yep - you don't generally tamp the pressurized portafilters on the Via Venezia or the Aroma - Kat

Giotto and Oscar can pull the shot and steam milk at the same time, they should be a lot quicker than single boiler machine...

The Silvia got beaten by the Venezia?? OMG!
ehgz1 5 months ago
@ehgz1 Venezia does have a smaller boiler, so the switch in temps was a bit quicker -- less water the drain and then to heat up again - Kat

Tell your friends to drink their coffee from smaller cups and you can work a lot faster! :)

@lewys258 I wasn't because it has a smaller boiler so I thought it would be able to go through the temp change process a little bit quicker - Kat
