Mao was a disaster for China! His cultural revolution killed 30 million chinese and china lost an entire generation! Why is everything censored in China?! Why do they throw wonderful Chinese heroes like Ai wei wei in prison just for asking for freedom of speech (which is in china's constitution)? May Mao rot in hell for the suffering he gave to the Chinese people!
@Bedlam1918 i totally understand why you like it (i am chinese), cause it is a very good piece of art besides political sutff. The irony is the producers/artists who worked on this were all "people of min guo (nationalist republic)", in other words their superior experience and education were rooted in the period of pre-revolution nationalist china. It is an artistic level so high today's mainland china could hardly surpass (just look at the new version of the film, horrible).
I love the line "The Red Political Power takes firm root." Something about it is magical. Long live the Autumn Harvest Uprising! Long live the Nanchang Rebellion! Long live the People of China!
