Got to this vid via a link on Andy's website. Then immediately thought, "of course it would be Axe." Once again, kudos my friend. Another terrific post.
UFO and remote mind reading/manipulation technology was developed by the nazis by the end of WW2 without any alien help. : there is an extreme criminal orgonizaiton working withing high ranks of the US military waging psychological against the general population pretending to be extradimensional aliens and/or angelic and demonic forces often using holograms.
U FUCKIN' SON OF A GUN.... YOUV'E DONE IT AGAIN WITH THIS VID.. I THINK THIS IS MY FAVORITE VERSION OF THIS SONG.... U JUST DONT STOP DO U ...LUV U BRO.... YOUR MUCH APPRPECIATED !!!!!
Finally! A famous great guitar player that holds the pick the same way I do. I thought it was just a bad habit of mine, but if Michale Schenker can play like that then I can.
Thank You AXEFLYERFV! I have always heard about Micheal Schenker but never really heard him! Now I know what I have been missing for the last 30yrs! I can't get UFO off of my cd player now!
This is so much faster than the "75 live version you have posted before. They must have been a little nervous - of course they were younger, too, and maybe on something performance-enhancing ;0)
VERY cool... it's the earliest UFO material I have seen or heard. Schenker played great in this performance, but he did get a lot sharper, very quickly for later performances in 1974 and on ... That dude stripping out of his shirt must have been on some really good "orange sunshine" or something like that! Heh heh heeh
Thanks Axeflyer..once again you dig up a rare video..I did see Klause there with the beard..This was just after UFO snatched Schenker from Scorpions..while touring together.as UFO's opening act. keep em coming my friend.....if you like singing this song or would like to karaoke it's available now sbi karoake has made it and it's pretty good
The version on Phenomenon blew me away in 74 . These old versions are really interesting...I've noticed Michael trying signal Andy to shift gears on the long solo
section , Right abot 3:23 in this rendition . On the recorded version , they nail that transition , and the next 30 seconds has been burned into my mind ever since .
@beestpassion2 This was a performance at a University so you know,1973,Peace & Love,Shrooms,etc...I know that "Twister" guy must of have been on something of that nature!
Bonus points for nerd semi-nudity. Also it is official that headbanging began in Deutschland. Metallica caught on to this trend ten years after it started.
Never heard those lyrics before,Phils lyrics never did make much sense. But they Rocked then and still do. I saw them in 81 with Paul Chapman on guitar. and again in the late 90s they did the whole Strangers in the night album live with Michael Schenker. I still listen that album, Its one of the best live albums ever. All you young people ckeck it out
Never saw this clip before....Its so fast, and with different lyrics...I love it! So classic...UFO is so underrated...Thanks so much for posting this!
AXFLYERFV, Thanks for posting this and other UFO videos! I am REALLY enjoying them! I saw UFO live circa 78, and they made a lasting impression on my young mind! On bass, Pete Way is one of my biggest influences. This early stuff with Schenker is just awesome!
My guess is that the lyrics weren't done yet, he just wrote the chorus, and the song was unfinished. Even though every time I see Mogg live he "reinvents" the lyrics often. Like someone said below "that's Rock N Roll".
Believe me brother if I wasn't 100% sure ,I would never even attemp to deceive anyone,.a few hints:
,around this time,Schenker was just fresh out of Scorpions(check my Promo video of I'm going I'M GOING MAD where Klaus's look has a beard)another one is ,he had a funny way of dancing when performing with Scorpions Promo videos or live .look at the way he moves his legs at the beat of the song & since he is kind of short you see him stretching up to get a better view!
Yeah your right. I know about his dancing leg thing. And I also know he left about this time. And I have seen that video with the beard. What is your explanation about why Michael left UFO?
Ok' He had talked with Rudolph that if ever the oportunity to get out of Germany came it was best to take it,Hard Rock in Germany was still very underground type of music,so then UFO came to Germany to play ,the guitarist of UFO had forgottent his passport so the gig was up,Scorpions & UFO at some Univerity
,so UFO approached Michael to fill in for the missing guitarist!
then they asked him to join UFO but he told the Scorpions that he wouldn't leave until they had another guitarist, He already knew ULI so he asked Uli if he wanted to joing them so he did!
so in other words he left Scorpions for a better oportuny & to get out of Germany & he took it!!
the thing about him wanting to be the greatest guitarist & faster in the world is another conversation he mentions on another interview but he was talking about he had to slow down cause he was geting way too fast & by playing fast he would lose the feeling of playing from the heart! which is his trademark, you can't plays fast & melodic,I read your other comments on another UFO video & you said the real facts on why Schenker left the Scorpions!
It's not Klaus Meine it's Phil Mogg on vocals. or are you joking? because they do not look alike. also micheal shenker did do a sting with scorpions. maybe that's what you're thinking of.
oh yeah I am so sure of that it was as normal as drinking 1 of those energy drinks (monster ,Red bull & all that stuff they have out there) but way stronger ,,BTW,your Avatar is tripping me out,LOL!!
You're right Dude. What the album came out in '76 or '77? I clicked on you link. I thought I was an UFO fan. You got me by a long shot. Strangers in the Night, best live album ever!
