  • Ah yes, the Queen that persecuted mercilessly Catholics...

  • To think he only wanted a Son...... His first daughter Victory was a horrible queen . The one child he did not want to become queen was the best one we ever had.

  • This trailer in NOT in HD!

  • wait....is THIS the movie I should watch before The Golden Age that I just rented from Tsutaya!?!?!?!?!? CRAAAAAAP!!!!

  • DEAD CAN DANCE

  • I need help: I watched the movie- and the end confused me to no end- ha ha, that sounded weird... Anyway. Why did she cut her hair, smear a weird lotion all over herself and then tell someone she was virgin???

  • @Tirza777 In 1562 she had smallpox that scarred her skin leaving her half bald. She put on cosmetics to hide her scars and of course used wigs for her hair. But in the movie she cut her hair coz she has no more plan to marry a man. Women and their hair, go figure. Heh. So she married herself to England. That celebration in the end was her wedding.

  • @skewnesz123 OH! thank you so much.... but the movie confused me about the sex, because it sure looked like they were going at it..... x) I supposed that was Hollywood

  • @RichardElden Yes they did. Mayans and Aztecs were smoking as early as the 9th century. Christopher Columbus' voyage introduced tobacco to Europe in 1493. Some kings (like James 1st) banned smoking as they thought it was evil (smart kings).

  • LOL! 'The Queen is dead, long live The Queen' TROLOLOLOL

  • @TheTm0n Funny what they cut out in trailers..

  • optimus prime dose Eliabeth

  • @RichardElden HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT! Two reasons why I say this. Geoffrey Rush is a brilliant and (until King's Speech) a very underrated actor and it is wrong to speak ill of people by predicting them getting cancer! Also, it is an insult to Michael Douglas. He and his family suffered a lot in the past year. Besides, how do you know that they have smoking habits? Some actors are required to smoke in films, just as Geoffrey Rush had to in the movie Shine (which he won an Oscar for).

  • @RichardElden WHAT? He is very good! He commands presence in every scene. It's saying that this guy is not to be messed around, or they'll pay the price.

  • One of the most epic movies I have seen!!! Very beautiful, powerful, mystic, eciting and scary(in a weird kind of way, yet thrilling)!!

  • @Mluz869 With movies you've got to allow some leeway. Sometimes it's the affordability. Maybe that's where they could best get the shots done given where they were at the time, their scheduling, deadlines, etc. Ideally you'd like historic movies to be accurate, but they just can't afford to do so.

  • @Mluz869 This film is set in the 1500s. The battle of Trafalgar took place in 1805....

  • @Mluz869 Trafalgar was in 1805 and is not mentioned once in this film trailer. What are you talking about?

The war you speak of isn't even covered in this film but in the next one - Elizabeth the Golden Age - and that wa the Spanish Armada which was fought around the English coast.

I think you need to go back to school.

  • @THthefirst Maybe you should go back to school yourself.

  • @Mluz869 What a great comeback.

  • Does anyone know if this is based on true facts? I wanna use this as a source of info on my reasearch report.

  • @reikachan12 It's a fictionalized story based on historic figures and some facts. If you use this, I'd recommend using it as a comparative with actual events but not as a source of fact.

  • @reikachan12 + what bugramps said.. it is meant to be a biographical film, mostly focusing on the PERSONALITY of Queen Elizabeth -- so it is not entirely historically accurate (it's not really fictionalized.. there are inaccuracies, but there isn't really anything that is inaccurate that is so important to the similarities of the movie and the real life history of the Queen.)

  • so are there 2 movies like this "elizabeth" and "elizabeth - the golden age"

  • @WorldWatcher9 Yep, that's right. t tare Cate Blanchett a Elizabeth. Both are outstanding too.

  • cate blanchett is like a living art..

  • YER NO ONE'S ELIZABETH im so happy she said that , after all that shit she has taken in her life she deserves a little time to herself like how anout maybe ... 46 YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime, Eeyor from Winnie the Pooh) narrated this commercial. I thought I would let you all know =]

  • it's on tonight on Film4.

  • This film got a Thai girl I know into English history. We had just watched Suriyothai which was based in the same sort of period and then later Elizabeth. Now she's got the history bug. Gotta visit all the palaces and castles now.

  • There could never be a remake to this (say 10, 20 years from now). It would be an aboration. This is almost as perfect as one can get save for our Lord above. He is perfect indeed. But as far as films go, this is almost perfect. There could never be another to play the lead and Walsingham.

  • Oops, I did say Mary, sorry!!!! I meant Anne!!!! xD

  • @xCarolaLovex Dead can dance - Summoning of the muse :)

  • She wasn't , She was Anne bolyn's daughter.

  • So, historically I loved the irony that she was Mary Boleyn's daughter.

  • @Sokulski she was Anne Boleyn's daughter not Mary's

  • Such a good movie!

    I that she was independant!

  • omg i cant believe this!!!!!!!!!!!! i had seen this great movie before and i loved it but i hadnt seen the trailer before and didnt know that it actually had Dead can dance - Summoning of the muse as music!!!!!!!!!!sooooooooooooooooooooo great...;)

  • Lol, the URL has "gays" in it. Just sayin'.

  • God save our Elizabeth.

  • Elizabet l Tudor lead england in to a Golden Age.

  • long live a queen - aka - Cate Blanchet - one of best preformer ever - for all who love to give frustration over eny movie go to psychistrist ... and live a movie art alone -art is art not sience so its not exact - its one way of free vision of that time with true story plot of cours...

to all realy movie -film lovers -who respect all movies and give fer critic ...have nice day.. ;)= (vampire kiss)

  • if some know how to act and understund a movies would never tell or write nothing so stupid as this ignorent who everhe or she is - lupischuckle-

people always think they know all and what is bed or good ... well this movie is amazing and acting story and history is alll PERFECT - no one know s what realy happend...

  • It's one of the best Films ! I Love It ♥

    *___*

She was so a strong Queen !

  • Anyone know the song that starts at 0:25?

  • @JessetheFury summoning of the muse by dead can dance.

  • We just watched this in class and it was really nice & it has a great story.. The actors were great! I love all their costumes. :)

  • Historically disastrous, and the dialogue of a cheap romance novel, but the costumes and settings a perfect replicas (even if absolutely nothing else is accurate). I honestly hated this movie from a historian background, and as a movie goer, but I will give credit to set/costume design- very well done.

  • optimus prime?

  • she deserved the scar not gwyneth

  • @danibox16 hahahahahahahjajajajajaj ;)
