Violence would achieve many things.Catharsis and severence. Both of benefit to the psychy of the victim.1 would nolonger b dependent menatally due to the expression of one's desire not to be.Violence would signify an unmistakable end to an era.'cause the mind is a creature of habit it wouldnt hurt at all but there remains need for a body to be alive,to proclaim any victory surely 1 must be alive to do so.So violence is not the best solution.Maybe some symbolic violence after physical severence.
The best way to change this world is to educate people.like they say : an educate community is a dangerous community..so lets give books to the children!cuz i rather see kids reading about Fanon, Cesaire, learning about Steve Biko and some others, than kids who stuck in a shitstem, hypnot-eyes by tv or radio.
what solutions are you referring to? The use of violence and terror to break out of the hierarchic system we live in? He is a huge proponent of violence, and I don't know how you can say he had so many solutions...maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think violence is the answer.
@stil97bella His use of psychoanalysis to advocate the use of violence against the coloniser is what made his "solutions" so unique. You may not agree with his ideas, but he certainly had a grasp of many different ways to escape from the colonial order - and of course, these were all predictably brushed off and misunderstood by the Western world.
@kruger97 and thats what the Arab/Muslim world is calling for against their evil Regimes. Its the Jihad in the Islamic term which was incorrectly or purposely used by terrorists like Al Qaeda to kill the innocent instead of killing the Regimes and the Tyrants.
@kruger97 I don't think the Western world "misunderstood" Fanon's escape routes. It simply didn't accept them. That comment implies a general ignorance of the Western world. There are a lot of white European political philosophers that the Western world didn't accept either. Fanon makes it very clear that he is a proponent of violence when he says that "violence is man re-creating himself". Fanon's theories simply don't fit in with liberalism as such.
violence was used to get this country and the place where its at now...violence begets violence. that is the only thing that the power structure recognizes.
@stil97bella the main thing is that the use of violence restores humanity by overturning the shame the opressed had while being dehumanized. And according to Fanon only violence can provide that. Hope that answers your point.
I do think such a thing would have been legitimate and true. I am against the use of violence, but in this case it has a particular meaning.
@stil97bella If yu looked at the History, you will NOT find a Colony who just left a country peacefully...Unless you are out of resources..Even in Spain, they resisted the Muslim army after 800 years..
I am NOT a violent person, but if someone comes to my house 'Uninvited" I won't kiss him on the cheek, I' ll tell you that, if you know what I mean..And I thank you for the Video very much...
Frantz Fanon is a true great, the deepest of intellectuals and it pains me that we pay so much attention to idiotic theories in schools and universities when people like him had so many solutions.

@kruger97 Ignored because of the implications of a violent struggle. But not misunderstood. Purposely misconstrued maybe but not misunderstood.
