Thin Lizzy are re-forming. John Sykes has left because he's too "metal" and Scott Gorham has brought in fresh new blood to carry on the legend. Brian Downey has returned on drums and they will start touring next year. :)
said it many times, these guys are in the elite of power rock. I think they are the best, but in the top 5 or 6 its hard to assign a score. But no other band is better! Almost every song is a showcase for not 1 but 2 great guitar solos.Like the other post says,no makeup, breathing fire or smashing the equipment, just kickass ROCK!! Gimme some more!!
Lizzy is, and still does, prove to all serious hard rock/metal fans that they were everything that embodied what it is to be a legendary band. No need for make up, fake teeth, or the blood spurting bollocks that the like of kiss provided.......lets face it who could take gene simmons seriously when he didnt play bass on some of the lame kiss tracks cos he was too busy shagging some bimbo with a star on her face......fuck off kiss! you aint got nothin but merchandise
Robbo was the dogs bollox on wah wah. Saw Lizzy for first time in 1977 at Lewisham Odeon. I rank it as the best gig I ever saw and I really have been to hundreds of gigs...old git that I am lol.
blacksabfan I can't convey to you my appreciation for all the rockin' vids you put out there for all of us to enjoy. I've been the biggest TL/Phil fan in So.Calif. for over 35 years now.....of course i say that tongue in cheek. my friend that intro'd me to them in the early 70's would contest that! saw them every year they came out here to tour until they split. Sabbath and Purple were my first hard rock loves. but once I heard my first riffs other than Jailbreak and Boys r Back I was so sold!
just amazing. Lizzy is the best two guitar band in history. They should have been huge. This tune ranks right up with Emerald as one of my favs. Remember being at my Gran's house in England and seeing them on Top of the Pops doing Dancing in the Moonlight. We didn't get Top in the Pops here in Canada so it blew me away. Gone way to soon.
One of Lizzy's best and most under-rated songs in my opinion.

What Lizzy had in common with Miles Davis was that they both had the sound of "The street" in their music

Favorite lizzy tune...I tend to go for the heavier stuff of the era(Sabbath, et al) but no doubt Lynott is a brilliant songwriter.

Love the song, I think it's even better than the original version.. that classic guitar in the middle section makes it a million times better!

Great version of one of my fave Lizzy tracks! Nice solos and an overall raw feel.
