If it weren't for Fox News, I would never have known our president is a socialist muslim who isn't an american citizen and who declared war on religion and controls the mainstream liberal media. Thanks Fox for keeping me so well informed!!
I came here because I heard that Media Matters was trying to down Fox News. I used to watch at least 4 news sources per day; now I only watch 1, Fox News. I admit they lean to the right, but they usually offer a chance for the other side to argue; they also report the truth. If this nation keeps going in the direction we have been we will have another civil war, or cease to exist. In either case we lose as a nation. I will always vote for the most conservative person, whom I think can win.
@farmmur You vote for the person who used their supposed religion to fool you into believing that they are on your side. They are liars and bias as any politician. You are being lied to on a daily basis. Its been proved to you and you still follow behind them sniffing at their rump.
@takaris7 Like I said, I vote for the most conservative person whom I think can win. So far I have not found one single lie that Fox News has told. There have been a very few mistakes made and they cleared them up as soon as they realized it. The left-wing media, especially this site and other places like it, can't tell the truth. America is in bad trouble and I hate to say it, but our future looks bleak and it is mostly the fault of the left-wing.
@farmmur who would this civil war be between? are you saying that people on the far right are so bullheaded over their political opinions that they are willing to kill over them? sounds pretty ignorant to me. Liberalviewer: Keep up the good work my friend! We got to continue to educate people on what a crock of shit Fox so called "News" really is. They really are a disgrace and MAJOR disservice to our country MISINFORMING millions on a daily bases. This whole "Tea Party" non sense promoted / supported by Fox has done nothing but hurt our country.
FoxNews is smashing the shit out of other cable news programs? So, 1% of the country watches FoxNews, which is less than watch GIlligan Island reruns, and you're going to run with that?
@MrRafaelblock: if Fox News outdone any other media sources across the United States and other territories, then it's more likely that people are willing to misunderstand any purposes of the political agendas revolving around people. And to make matters worse - alot of their viewers don't seem to be aware of Fox's constant criticism of whenever if they talk about political OR media figures in a biased context with intentionally hilarious results.
@LiberalViewer What would be wrong with taxing the churches. Many years ago I brought a friend of mine's daughter to an abortion clinic. The holy-jumpers were hanging around outside and harrassing people going into the buiding. I mentioned to them that I knew the local congressman and would suggest taxing churches if they didn't back off. They scattered quickly and shut up too. The churches have been evading taxes for far too long. Lets bring this subject up a little more often.
@somethingdiffereable Avoiding, not evading. Evading is breaking the law, avoiding is legal. What is wrong with taxing churches is that many folks believe they do good. Of course, Libs think only Govt can do good.
while i agree faux news is a conservative propaganda machine that needs to be taken down one must also understand that the audience who generally watch these videos also doesnt like faux news
I think faux news should do a smear story on liberal viewer because he would get all that free advertising/exposure on their own channel to their own viewers. For this reason im glad they did this piece on mm...i can only hope that some of fox's viewers had the brains to investigate mm for themselves.
You know, I knew when MediaMatters came out it was going to be a corncob causing lots of butthurt for fox 'news', my reaction to this is the same as it was then.
I only wish Fox News was MORE biased against everything leftist in this country. Let's face it; MSNBC, ABC, CNN, CBS. NBC, the NYT, etc. would do ANYTHING to see that infantile narcisist, 'Hobama' re-elected so he can play gold, while the country crashes. Media Matters is so far up 'Hobama's' butt, they see his breakfast, before his stomach does.
@mrxpapa1 Yeah, but you have to remember that this channel is mostly spread around to the liberal community. If this was a conservative channel it would be the same about CNN. I am a conservative, but i like to watch CNN sometimes just to see what FOX skips out on and vice versa. but don't just judge from this one channel look around and see what more conservative and liberal channels say. :)
@mrxpapa1 The ratio only reflects the view of folks on this thread. The Neilson Ratings of course tell a far different story. Fox News smashing the shit out of all other cable news programs, across all demographics, and time periods.
Question... If Media Matters is attacking Fox, how is that showing party bias? Media matters is not attacking the GOP. I am confused, unless this is an open admission that Fox is part of the GOP in which case Media Matters is doing its job right.
I still wonder... who actually watches fox news? I mean really? How is it the most watched media network, are Americans really this ignorant of Republicam bias?
@AngryGerman57 Well when they revised the method of getting Listener numbers for radio to make it (vaguely) accurate, right-wing Radio Talk shows had huge drops in ratings (and immediately went to the edge of bankruptcy).. So I wouldn't consider it impossible that the Fox News ratings have little basis in reality.
.
Saying that George W Bush won a second term in office (even if his first election win was somewhat questionable re: Florida.) So I wouldn't like to underestimate american ignorance
@AngryGerman57 Well as an Englishman I can assure you that their quite justified in creating a group called the tea party, the tea you get over here just tastes nasty - I think its the milk you get over here - it just tastes.... wrong, I read up on it and apparently America allows a high level of puss into edible cows milk, which ruins the flavour. So the Tea Parties all for higher government regulation to stop companies putting extra puss into the milk right? ;)
@neverfearchrisishere Yes but as a middle class working American I look at far right conservative groups and their views on the so called "old establishment".
@cadeere74 That, and it appeals to the interests of the ultra-rich, for whom millions of working class Americans have been duped into having sympathy, by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.
I don't want the uneducated to influence my media sources, and independent studies have repeatedly shown that educated americans are much more likely to vote democrat.
Also, liberals are the majority. There are roughly 1.5 democrats for every republican living in the united states, we just don't care about them because they don't vote.
My question is this. Why the hell does it take some youtuber, albeit a very intelligent and informed youtuber, the one to be pointing this out? Why isn't the american judicial system at work? It's a sad state of affairs, this is why Canada tried so hard to keep fox style news out, unsuccessfully mind you but we tried.
damn america really is a backwards country its scary to think there are people that sit there and believe every thing thats said on that bogus news channel its like watching a satire of everything a news channel shouldnt be, a channel this full of fact less statements and out right lies should never be aloud broadcast
I agree with you completely. And honestly, I think that if Bachmann did throw out the teleprompter that would mean she's just wasting her time writing every speech herself when she could be doing more important things. I like how Obama handles his speeches.
@colossus999 I'm sure she could throw it away. It's not like she's literate anyway.
The thing I like most about Obama is that he's pragmatic (including about the way he does the speeches). He's idealistic too, but he balances it with pragmatism most of the time. (I think he probably learned this skill early on in his Presidency, when he realised it would be much harder than he'd thought to achieve his goals.)
Michelle Bachmann is a noob in politics. She still thinks she can do anything.
DOWN WITH FOX NEWS! Slowly, people ARE starting to realize what Fox and other media outlets are all about... It's time for the News to be News again. 3 part solution: 1. Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.
@User10111993 I believe that in order to vote for a write-in candidate, you have to provide the individual's name, and I'm not sure that a YouTube username like "liberalviewer" would suffice. :)
@theaxster It is kind of amusing, for *this* sort of Christian. But secular and Christian are not at all mutually exclusive. Just as an example, I know that a number of Christian clergy work with the organisation Americans United for Separation of Church and State; indeed, the head of this group is an ordained Christian minister. Smart Christians recognise that a secular state is one where there is true religious freedom.
@theaxster Ah, it's hard to be sure. There are so many people who have been brainwashed into believing secularism is opposed to religious freedom....
Archbishop Charles Chaput -- "We make a very serious mistake if we rely on media like the New York Times, Newsweek, CNN, or MSNBC for reliable news about religion. These news media simply don’t provide trustworthy information about religious faith — and sometimes they can’t provide it, either because of limited resources or because of their own editorial prejudices.”
If you can't believe these sources about religion, can you believe anything else they print?
@theaxster Ahh ok. Sometimes it is hard to tell. There are so many people who buy into the right-wing propaganda that secularism is incompatible with individual freedom of religion. It is important to defend our secular state because secularism is necessary to protect the civil rights of religious minorities, like Catholics (who have in the past been persecuted in the predominantly-Protestant US), Jews, Muslims, and the nonreligious.
@DaboiaRusselli took me a while to respond to this and I don't want to offend anybody, but I think that religious freedom in terms of tax-exempt status, advertising and marketing should be restricted in the US - it even goes against the grain for me, but when you see a Gallup poll that says "40% of Americans are young-earth creationists", which can only be matched by some very backward Islamic countries and the country produces SEVERAL presidential candidates who hold that belief, .....cont....
@DaboiaRusselli took me a while to respond to this and I don't want to offend anybody, but I think that religious freedom in terms of tax-exempt status, advertising and marketing should be restricted in the US - it even goes against the grain for me, but when you see a Gallup poll that says "40% of Americans are young-earth creationists", which can only be matched by some very backward Islamic countries and the country produces SEVERAL presidential candidates who hold that belief, .....cont....
it is cause for concern. The US was the first real proponent of separation of church and state and now - in the developed world - is the least adherent to that principle. Even though in most other countries, it isn't even written into the constitution. Ironic? You bet.... :)
So, she's gonna retire the teleprompter?!? Don't forget, honey, a short time ago the republican running for vice president couldn't remember to include "tax cuts" in her speech of ALL THINGS!!! She had to write that on her hands to remind her?!? "TAX CUTS"?!? WTF, oh yeah, it was Sarah Palin.
@Liberalviewer the end of Fox News is coming soon. They're scared and doing everything they can to discredit everyone that tries to expose them. Very soon... very soon indeed.
they do not want their moronic viewers to know they are lying all the time...they as a corporate person have the right to lie according to the courts.. watch?v=jDKLFn0pty4
People of the world, It has come to our attention that in recent years the corrupt establishments of the world have used fear and empty threats such as "radical islam" and "Gaddafi" to terrorize it's own people. claiming to protect it's citizens under the guise of national security. while at the same time passing the patriot act. Claiming to protect civilians at home and abroad while in reality they hire contractors to murder them.
It's funny how every little piece of shit lie that FOX perpetrates can be disproved with a few simple Google searches. FOX's usual tactic of depending on American laziness and willingness to passively accept news without question isn't going to last them long, and I agree with the statement that they're breaking and freaking out.
MediaMatters, posting FULL CONTEXT audio and video clips and uses actual facts that are undeniable, with easy to understand charts does NOT make them partisan, it makes them a news organization... something Faux News knows NOTHING about!
Admittedly, many of the articles have contained a writers bias or personal feelings on given audio/video clips that describe them, but the facts remain the same!
"radical conservative", like wanting Government to live and operate within its means, stop skyrocketing spending, stop growing the size of Government, stop wealth redistriburion,...all the good stuff progressives are so fond of
@genie0390 lol right so you conservatives didn't double the national debt in the 00's after inhereting a 300 billion dolllar budget surplus from Clinton (democrat)? Maybe open up an economics book retard and understand why it is that 99% of the economic community favors expansion of govt. spending in our current recession while 1% pushes the retarded austerity measures that you conservatards want. What happened in 37' when conservatards imposed austerity WE SLIPPED BACK INTO THE GREAT DEPRESSION
@genie0390 I understand the difference fucktard, I include the debt that Bush failed to pay for in his presidency but ran up. I.e. two failed wars, a trillion dollar unpaid for medicare prescription drugs package, the Bush tax Cuts and the resulting 3.7 trillion in debt it has and will add to the national debt according to the CBO. So yeah fucktard, maybe sit on the sidelines untill we can correct the massive fuckups of the retards in your party, THANKS!
so idiot, 30 months into Obowma's term and it's still all about Bush? Bush added 1.6 billion/day to national debt, Obowma is at 4.1 billion/day. Whereas Bush's deficits were at 400 billion, Obowma's deficit is at 1.6 trillion. Fact is obowma has increased size of Government to outrageous level.
Good presidents solve problems not complain about previous administrations! If Bush wanted to complain he would talk about walking into 9/11 and the housing bubble burst, both by Clinton
@genie0390 Yeah, the majority of the deficit that Obama faces is due to the increased unemployment payments and the decreased revenue caused by the recession you conservatards left us with. What are you seriously surprised that it has taken longer than teo and a half years to fully recover from the greatest recession and threat to our financial sector sincethe great depression? And Obama hasn't been mentioning Bush at all, he is trying to move forward. But I won't let you idiots forget the past.
@nailo1 I loved that she showed how much research she does before opening her mouth. That was obviously her own stupidity...she wanted to be associated with an American icon and didn't even bother to check the dumbasses that brought her the "great" news... OMG, John Wayne was born here too. Wait til I tell Michele, this is going to look like she has something in common with him!! I'm definitely getting promoted for this!! LMAO
@Plur307 Actually exactly what I was referring to. I have a roommate who is conservative, Christian and homosexual and he's said on occasion that he hates the term hypocrite. He doesn't seem to think it's applicable to philosophy, and I get this same sense from the Republican party. They just seem completely unabashed about it.
One of my favorite things about the homophobia of christians is that the same chapter that says you shouldn't lay with another man also says that adultery, and insulting your mother or father are punishable by death. Prostitutes should be killed by fire. Wearing clothing woven of two materials is also banned in the same chapter. Does he have any polyester/cotton clothing? He is in big trouble if he does... The list goes on and on, just read Leviticus...
The Republicans do not control FOX. Koch Brothers, ALEC, USCoC the whole Corporate Cabal is who controls FOX & Republicans. So no, imo, FOX is not in violation by being controlled by a political party. Their attacks on media matters are completely unfounded and they should be hammered back night and day, especially now that the House of Murdoch is melting down rather magnificently.
Hypocrisy thy name is Fox. In a perfect world Fox would be considered as part of the Republican Party and thereby have to claim them as a campaign expense but that is not likely to happen even when they admit their bias. Media Matters and the Daily Show are thorns in their side because they are pointing it out. Will Fox bew in danger of being disqualified for media exception? No, not because they shouldn't but beasue the Republian Party won't allow it. Fox News is too valuable to let that happen
i've never read the comments on his videos because i thought people would know it's to volatile and pointless to argue on a channel this biased... guess i was wrong
@eriq8675 how is biased? because he's exposing a biased news network for the false information or misreporting they do? of course the other networks are known to spin a few stories but not as bad as fox does things if any network deserves to get exposed its Fox
@YinZenYang The name of the channel is called liberal viewer and it's attacking fox news, how is it now biased? I'm liberal, I'm just saying people shouldn't argue.
@eriq8675 he's not attacking fox, if someone is giving false information and you correct them its not attacking them but using your words if he were "attacking" fox news and his name was conservative viewer does that mean he's still biased? Im just really trying to understand how people feel he's biased because he exposes a bias network FOX I believe he wants people to start knowing for themselves vs hearing from a program with an agenda to help one side liberal or conservative
@YinZenYang From the banner under the videos : "150 plus fox bias videos''. If you make 150 videos against fox you have a bias against fox. It's that simple. Plus I don't thin you read my original comment correctly. My comments was aimed at idiots, like you, who start arguments on biased political channels. For example if I went on Fox's channels and said that Bush is the devil that would be pointless because I know that everyone there is going to hold an opposing view no matter what.
@eriq8675 I apologize for sending a message if you get one as I was trying to respond to your comment using the yt app on my phone but I want everyone to understand what I am saying....He's not biased and for you to say he is shows that you do not know how to use the word "biased" because it means to show prejudice against someone "unfairly", how is having 150+ pieces of evidence being biased? And it was pointless for you to come this video and say he's biased knowing it would be controversial.
"From the banner under the videos : 150 plus fox bias videos'. If you make 150 videos against fox you have a bias against fox. It's that simple."
- that statement makes no sense, being able to highlight the bias of an organization that purports to being ''fair and balanced' does not indicate you are biased against them.
"My comments was aimed at idiots, like you, who start arguments on biased political channels"
- unlike fox's channel the comments here arnt censored.
@types10000 I DONT FRAKING SUPPORT FOX NEWS! I HATE IT! OLBO AND RACHEL MADDOW ALL THE WAY! BUT EVEN THEY WOULD ADMIT THAT THEY ARE BIASED AGAINST CONSERVATIVES! HE TARGETS ONE "NEWS" STATION! PLUS MY ORIGINAL COMMENT WASN'T ABOUT HIS BIAS , IT WAS ABOUT PEOPLE THAT BOTHER TO MAKE ANTAGONISTIC POLITICAL COMMENTS! GEEEEZZZZUUUHHHHH!
"just because you point out bias doesn't mean that you have a bias."
- exactly.
you wouldnt happened to have read the first line of my statement, which was infact a quote and addressed that as if it were my position would you? because that would demonstrate a very large amount of intellectual laziness on your part :)
@rsolgtp While your offer of yourself as evidence that bias prevents one from having a decent argument, I maintain that it does no such thing since bias is unavoidable (although it can be minimized), and "decent arguments" have been made.
@TritonAlias as you didn't answer the question it must have been perhaps too uncomfortable for you. telling... bias is avoidable. it just requires a desire to.
I may be stating the obvious, but the Fox fight (that Fox basically created) with Media Matters started sometime toward the end of June. However, the investigation by authorities in Great Britain into Newscorp tapping private lines has gone on for about 5 yrs. now before it completely exploded into our airwaves showcasing the truly heinous things Newscorp had done in order to attain a story and garnering the attention of our own FCC and FBI. cont.
@mrquiet2009 What I am trying to say is this: It is quite possible that Rupert Murdoch, with all his connections in British parliament, knew ahead of time that this scandal was about to explode and, in order to maintain Fox viewership, they created this story to keep the unfortunately gullible Fox viewers from noticing the sleaze that was erupting around his networks and corporation. I would like to believe that if they knew about this, Fox News viewership would drop. But that may be a dream.
Though this has a bit of holes in the argument against Sekulow, the overall argument that Fox's complaints about media matters are absurd is well put. Well done LV.
#1: It's about pointing out bias. Why else would they even bring up such an obscure law?
#2, Fox accuses Media Matters of violating a rule that suposedly bans them from criticizing a political PARTY, not another tax-funded or non-profit organization, a PARTY. And since what they actually did was criticize Fox News, this clearly implies Fox News is actually an integral part of the Republican party, which, if true, is an even bigger violation of tthat rule.
So let me get this straight; if you work for an organization that's fiunded by the government, you're not allowed to talk about the governmenht, except you WORK for the government and the descisions of the government directly effects you and everything you do.
Yeah, I've never heard of a teacher who ever spoke out against School budget cuts. I've certainly never gotten a few days off school due to a teacher strike. Nope, that never happens at all.

AngryGerman57 6 months ago

So the Tea Parties all for higher government regulation to stop companies putting extra puss into the milk right? ;)

Isn't the liberal bias a good thing?
I don't want the uneducated to influence my media sources, and independent studies have repeatedly shown that educated americans are much more likely to vote democrat.
Also, liberals are the majority. There are roughly 1.5 democrats for every republican living in the united states, we just don't care about them because they don't vote.

My question is this. Why the hell does it take some youtuber, albeit a very intelligent and informed youtuber, the one to be pointing this out? Why isn't the american judicial system at work? I agree with you completely. And honestly, I think that if Bachmann did throw out the teleprompter that would mean she's just wasting her time writing every speech herself when she could be doing more important things. I like how Obama handles his speeches.
colossus999 6 months ago

Hypocrisy thy name is Fox. YinZenYang 7 months ago

I may be stating the obvious, but the Fox fight (that Fox basically created) with Media Matters started sometime toward the end of June. However, the investigation by authorities in Great Britain into Newscorp tapping private lines has gone on for about 5 yrs. now before it completely exploded into our airwaves showcasing the truly heinous things Newscorp had done in order to attain a story and garnering the attention of our own FCC and FBI. cont.
mrquiet2009 7 months ago
@mrquiet2009 What I am trying to say is this: It is quite possible that Rupert Murdoch, with all his connections in British parliament, knew ahead of time that this scandal was about to explode and, in order to maintain Fox viewership, they created this story to keep the unfortunately gullible Fox viewers from noticing the sleaze that was erupting around his networks and corporation. I would like to believe that if they knew about this, Fox News viewership would drop. But that may be a dream.

Questions:
#1: It's about pointing out bias. Why else would they even bring up such an obscure law?
#2, Fox accuses Media Matters of violating a rule that suposedly bans them from criticizing a political PARTY, not another tax-funded or non-profit organization, a PARTY. And since what they actually did was criticize Fox News, this clearly implies Fox News is actually an integral part of the Republican party, which, if true, is an even bigger violation of tthat rule.
