dixie is nickname given to the southern portion of the USA, roughly covering i'd say Floridia to Texas from east to west, and probbally Florida to Central West Virginia in north to south. Basically the borders of the Confederate States of America. And the stars and bars as it called, is actually the Confederate battle flag, that was carried in the War of Northern Agression by the CSA.

Nope. Not even close. The term "redneck" originated in Scotland. It began as a slur against Presbyterians. Most of the Scots and Scotch-Irish who came to the New World in the 18th century were Presbyterians and the term followed them.
hate to correct you but it originated from a gun fight in the midwest between minors and pinkertons and the minors wore red bandanas around their necks to let each other know they were on the same side. since they were all poor and working class, it stuck with them and was considered a badge of honor to be called a redneck.

When they went into town After the weeks of being outside from sunup- to sundown. Everyone greeted them with respect due to thier Red Necks.

dixie is nickname given to the southern portion of the USA, roughly covering i'd say Floridia to Texas from east to west, and probbally Florida to Central West Virginia in north to south. Basically the borders of the Confederate States of America. And the stars and bars as it called, is actually the Confederate battle flag, that was carried in the War of Northern Agression by the CSA.

@ljones121 Actually the "Rebel Flag" that everyone has today actually has no historical signifigance. The stars and bars is the CSA's national flag, which looks nothing like what we see today as the "Rebel Flag".

@ty1977 "Dixie" is a term used for the part of the country south of the Mason-Dixon line, which are the states that divided form the union to make the Confederate States of America. The Rebel Flad we have today is actually a ship's stern collar that has a different shade of blue, and the CSA never used it. I think Wikipedia has some good articles on CSA flags, and an explanation of the current Rebel Flag that has no historical significance.

Nope. Not even close. The term "redneck" originated in Scotland. It began as a slur against Presbyterians. Most of the Scots and Scotch-Irish who came to the New World in the 18th century were Presbyterians and the term followed them.

hate to correct you but it originated from a gun fight in the midwest between minors and pinkertons and the minors wore red bandanas around their necks to let each other know they were on the same side. since they were all poor and working class, it stuck with them and was considered a badge of honor to be called a redneck.
