Have you ever tried the Ibanez Paul Gilbert Airplane Flanger? I have it, and I'm not 100% happy with it. I'm looking for something warmer and more along the lines of what the Electric Mistress does, I think. The Andy Summers-type sound, I guess. The Ibanez sounds tinny through my rig (Gibsons and Strats into Deluxe Reverb).
Hi there. Is it true that this hartman pedal isn't with SAD1024 anymore? If that so the tone must have changed a lot i guess... so please tell me it's not true!!
Thank You! Great demo with a good variety of sound and rhythms. I watched this video last week when I was trying to get a Andy Summer-Police sound and the next day I ended up going to my guitar shop and they got a shipment in of the hartman pedals. I tried the pedal for 5 min and knew this is a keeper. Sooooo organic! Mine has a little bit of noise in the sweep like a click sound but I think I can adjust it out with the time trim pot. I have 2 other flange pedals - not even with discussing
Speed 2 o'clock, Depth all the way up, Color 10 o'clock. I also adjusted the internal settings. If you can't make it sound the way you want, you can send it to me and I will adjust it for you.
@RACKDOCTOR I have been reading your original thread on TGP David, great stuff. I found the schematic and it looks easy to adjust (if you know what to adjust in which direction...) if you have any tips on internal settings I'd appreciate it. many thanks
Great demo! I've actually been wondering if I should swap out my 90ies reissue DEM for this. Which one did you prefer, assuming you've played a DEM before?
That I know .. or else I wouldn't have been looking for one. ;) haha, the DEM is my all-time favorite mod pedal due to its unique voicing. The thing is, I can clearly hear the Hartman has the DEM magic going on, definitely, without a doubt, but I was wondering if, to you, there were any differences? I heard the Hartman has less noise? If so, that's already a huge plus. Any other differences?
man, I really want to get this pedal now! I saw the title and thought 'Message in a Bottle' and its the first song I hear! Superb, how is it for Gilmour tones? Im looking at one as an alternative to the old EM :)
Raise my Rent! Yes.

Hartman is using the Panasonic Chips now. They are quieter and more stable and sound better in my opinion.

The Fixx "Stand or Fall"!!! Awesome, cool to hear those tastey 80's riffs. That tone is perfect for that one.

Does this remain as quiet with drive ahead of it?

RACKDOCTOR would you be willing to adjust my hartman flanger to sound like this? I would really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Sure, send it to me at L.A. Sound Design.

PERFECT demo, was so convince that i just ordered one :D
Think this pedal is THE flanger pedal, and it's spot on for the Gilmour tone!

Thank you for this demo. THANK YOU. Never seen another video so close to Andy's tone.

Yeah I went ccw on mine a little and found a real nice sweet spot. Mine sounds just like yours with the settings you have in the video

Did you go clockwise or counterclockwise on the clock speed trimmer?
rickerw 1 year ago
I think it was counter. I increased the delay time for more modulation.

2:14-4:14 is exactly how I hope to play. Does anyone know any other music that sounds like it?

It's sounds more like a chorus than a flange to me. Don't get me wrong. Sounds beautiful but I don't hear any flange. Are there other settings?

I have this flanger which I bought mostly because of this video :-)
I really wish you'd share your settings from this video, I can't tell where the knobs are pointed o'clock wise - thanks in advance!

Dude, really sweet Police tones. How long did you have to experiment before you nailed it?

Thanks. I had the Echoplex, Dynacomp and Hartman Flanger. That pretty much gets it.

Love this sound after checking out mxr and ADA... looking for a flanger to add to my strymons...& I think I just found it.

sounds great.. kinda flanger/chorus .. probably godd for making music .more tan making 'sounds'

I see .. The intenseness could also be due to your gain setting, perhaps? I don't think the intenseness will be a problem though.

The Hartman is the most authentic recreation of a 70's Electric Mistress. I would go with the Hartman.

The Hartman is quieter. It has a richer more organic quality. It may be a little more intense than the DEM.

It is a Comp, Flanger and Echoplex.

@RACKDOCTOR yeah I know but I found out in another of your vids that it WAS a LA Sound design pedal board which was my original question lol :)

Dave is the owner of L.A. Sound Design and yes, that is one of their boards. Their work is phenomenal.
