what you should have done is put cardboard underneath the pot so that when you catch squirrel you can pick up the pot with the cardboard and take it somewhere.
They have growled at us, pissed when the cage is picked up, bloodied their jaws trying to chew through the bars, and died of the summer heat before we found them. Life would be a little more boring without squirrels.
