Another question: how do I keep the cast on from rolling? I keep trying and trying and every time I start on row one, it's so twisted I can't untwist enough. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I don't understand why you are having trouble with it twisting, but maybe as you are casting on if you watch what I do on the video my left hand slightly holds or secures the casted on stitches. Just try that?
This is great and I can understand it easily. I do have a question. When you say that you don't count the first (single) cast on stitch because you eliminate it? How and when? Thanks!
@ThirdCoastGrrl Hi,,, sorry for the late reply. The slip knot just is a starting point. If you are knitting flat (not in the round) you would just start your ribbing and when you come to the last stitch just slip it off the needle and pull on the tail to eliminate the knot. If knitting in the round, slip off the 1st stitch and start your ribbing. Why,,, so I don't have a knot in the beginning of my work and also since ribbing is a combo of 2 that would leave you with an odd number of stitches.
@marlibpretty Yes, it works for any ribbing projects. I have also used it on other items without ribbing, I like that you are casting on 2 sts at once rather than one at a time.
thank you so much this helps tremendously for a nice look on the ribbing!
