Your 'challenging questions' are myopic in their scope, because you assume that atrazine is the only chemical influencing animal physiology, which has never been claimed by Dr Hayes or anyone else. FAIL!
I see. So the Hudson Institute is like the American Enterprise Institute and the Heartland Institute. Shilling for industry in hopes of obtaining large donations from wealthy sociopaths.
you stole my name you fat faggot eat a dick you spunned burnout get some friends I will plunge your asshole into oblivion and I am fucking you daughter and fucked your son up =)
Please stop fighting for the wrong side. It may be too late for you but please be a bit more pragmatic than just reading summaries. If you had any real research background then you would look at the actual studies instead of other people's summaries. I don't think someone who isn't a reproductive ecotoxicologist should speak on this topic, especially someone who JUST has a minor background in plant physiology.
I am a Portuguese biology student and future herpetologist and I do believe Dr. Hayes' studies. Your words are totally corrupted. Please let true scientists do their job.
You know very well why urban areas are more affected than country areas and how amphibians are endangered by herbicides and other issues.
* The majority of scientists not affiliated with Syngenta or the agricultural industry agree with Dr. Hayes. The few academic studies you cite have several experimental errors, such as not analyzing the level of atrazine in the water of their control frog larvae populations. You are incredibly dishonest to claim that there is even a significant minority of independent researchers who are on your side.
* The EU has banned usage of Atrazine based on the findings of their scientific committees that the existing research showed significant risk of negative human health effects, notably breast/prostate cancer. Germany banned it previously for excessive contamination of groundwater. The EPA does not adopt a precautionary principle and will allow the usage of Atrazine until its toxicology is clearly understood.
If it is proven that Atrazine heightens aromatase expression and abnormally high aromatase concentrations are responsible for the excessive conversion of androgen to estrogen, how can you argue with the mechanism behind Atrazine's negative effects on the reproductive health of frogs?
It's interesting that the only comments that can be made against this man's arguments all amount to childish sniping and an Ad Hoc fallacy. Nothing is said about the problems he raises with the flaws in Mr. Hayes' research.
I think that this speaks volumes to the validity of what Mr. Avery is saying.
Amazing. If you spell it out, Alexander Avery it all makes sense. 14 letters equal 14 letters in Admiral Ackbar's. Both names begin with A's. Its ACKBAR HIMSELF, HES WARNING US ITS A TRAP
Oh Alex... at Junked Science we (your friends) realize you are having a moment of despair. You're losing the argument... desperate. And you look like it. Get a grip. Go back to school and study basic principles of environmental health science. It's not money that should dictate your opinion. It's science! Logic! Deductive and inductive reasoning! Testing hypotheses. Data, not uniniformed theory driven by economic interest! Important, but maybe beyond your grasp. Acorns fall close to the tree.
The New York Times pointed out that Avery's non-profit employer has received funding from Monsanto Company, DowElanco and the Ag-Chem Equipment Company. Basically, he gets paid by Big Ag/Chem to say this.
This guy is an idiot. The cited papers favoring Atrazine are funded by guess who? (Atrazine!) Read Tyrone's latest PNAS paper. And claims frog populations are thriving in midwest.. yikes.. ignorance
