It is annoying as hell to play with the GBA, but if they didn't set it up that way, I doubt the game would have worked at all for multiplayer.

When I first saw this commercial, I thought it was so epic. I love when games ask the question "What if this were real? How would it play out?"

It just feels more emotional to see a modern city, evacuated, and enveloped by the mist...and four regular young adults in jeans and sweaters (sans any yuke helms, lol) with the courage, wit, strength, and faith to fight back the darkness. I love modern magic.

The crystal chronicles that play like this game haven't been doing so well.

This "wretched game" could be just what the series needed: Story, graphics(looking at you echoes of time), and the ability to play alone. Hell, even the 30 second trailers showcasing the AI amused me more than the DS games.

I actually managed to scrounge together four gba's, four cables, and four friends with some interest in playing Crystal Chronicles. As excited as I was to pull this off, it was back-breakingly difficult and the games always lost momentum after a session or two. I'm really hoping that the sequel will fix this with online play and smoother gameplay.

I've been wanting to play several awesome looking GCN games that I never got the chance to play when I had my GCN. So I went online and ordered 4. Pikmin, Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia, and this one.

I only got a part of my order and received Tales of Symphonia and this one. FFCC was brand new, as for ToS was used, which pissed me off. From those 2 I got, I like FFCC better. ToS is kind of boring. I hope that Pikmin and Baten Kaitos get here soon. And in new condition as well. = w =

Then you don't pay attention to cutscenes. Btw, You can beat the game in 5 "years" which isnt that long at all. The poems are a key on how start the process to beating the game. If you want more plot, go look up the FAQ and see what you missed to keep the game going. I'm not saying the plot (or the story of your character) is bluntly clear, but you can figure it out if you think open mindedly and use your memories (diary entries/cutscenes). The game really makes your memory important

Suikoden, Xenogears, Wild Arms, Chrono Trigger, every other final fantasy game, these games had plots. CC had fun gameplay and great music and graphics, but the connectivity concept, having to repeat dungeons over and over and utter lock of any substantial plot made it a mediocre game, full stop

Okay, I probably misunderstood you somewhere when I was reading what you said, so I'm sorry for my responses. It looks like we just totally disagree when it comes to how prevalent the plot was. I only had to repeat about 3 dungeons cause I just kept going forward in the game so I saw all the events on the way that led to the ending in one solid flow. Mediocricy isnt based on plot imo.

Multiplayer with controllers: Then what happens if one person pauses? Well, that could be fixes with splitscreen, yeah good idea.

Single player teammates: Mog casts Fire,Blizzard, or Thunder or Cure if he is not holding the chalice while you are casting magic, but with someone else, no. They would get annoying by suddenly attacking enemies and step outside of the chalice circle, or they would just stand there while you did all the work.

Actually, what if they did the same thing with the CPU characters that they did with Mog? They cast spells with you. Or you could give orders to them as well as being able to switch which one you are controlling.

And keep in mind that in the multiplayer, when you pause the gameboy, your character moves on autopilot without doing anything. Good for carrying the chalice.
