  • My grandfather either owned or ran the shooting range for years...I always remembered my family sharing good memories about Pleasure Beach!!So sad...however I could say as one of the highest taxpayer city,we have not seen any positive changes..then they wonder why people r still destroying the town...maybe if we had something positive to look forward to u would see the people's negative attitude change...change requires movement but if movement isn't occurring we have nothing to look forward too

  • I was born in BPT.1960,I think it was the day Bridgeport died

  • The HOMES AND COTTAGES on lordship beach were abandoned BY COURT ORDER___FOR NO REASON EXCEPT for the local government to seize control for their future plans of all this area People who OWNED ,rented and lived there for generations were ordered to LEAVE for no good reason the people here DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE

  • This Place WAS active till some one???? Burned the bridge the city and local government and whoever "they " are in cahoots with does not want the bridge rebuilt This is PUBLIC PROPERTY!! aside from a very small amount of privately owned

  • hay bpt is not dead

  • Such a pity....

  • Spent my childhood summers there....this brought tears to my eyes...

  • @bunnyetoes thank you for watching, must have been tough to see what it has become

  • looks like ma back yard

  • ANY OTHER CITY WOULD HAVE REBUILT THIS BEACH A LONNNNNNG TIME AGO! I mean, cmon, its a beach in the largest city in CT! Doesn't anyone find something WRONG with this picture? It's disgusting to me to see this go to waste. I know people who live in Mass that would DIE for a beach to go to, Bridgeport has 2 and yet, they let one of them die a horrible death. If not for the citizens, then how about for the eco life? This CAN'T be healthy for them either!

  • is that right were harbor yard is

  • @Ffldnationals14 yep, literally right behind it, its been a good while since ive been there, but i think a lot of the houses i showed are now gone

  • Bridgeport died a long time ago.

  • @mrzip8 too true

  • Went there when i was very young so i dont have many memories, its such a shame they couldnt rebuild that bridge

  • @shedgen0 thanks for watching!

yeah, it really is a shame to what happened to this place. its also sad to see other videos here on youtube that just do not capture the essence of this place and its former glory

  • What a disgrace, the local Mayors must be so proud.

  • @cwusaaz1 it really annoys me to no end to see what it turned out to be

  • Very nicely done! A shame of what has become of what was a beautiful treasure of Stratford and Bridgeport. I hope someday it can be rebuilt and become something meaningful again.
