No where in this video do I see 100 inches of snow.. That would be up to the top of windows.. Just north of where I live, they get 250 inches a year and use the second story doors..
Check out the big brain on jsnasselin, just as you stated, the snow would be to the top of the windows, so, having stated the obvious, do you really think my little truck would be able to navigate thru 100 inches of snow, perhaps, that is the reason you don't see it. thanks so much for looking, from now on, YOU, are not allowed to look at this page anymore, never, no mo, not at all.......don't do it.....don't........
@jsnasselin .....PLUS, ....It also states: We got over 100 inches ' IN 1 WEEK ' , ...You're talkin about some 250 inches in a year/season? I don't think the place you're talking about get nearly as much snow as we do. You gotta be TOUGH to live around these parts of New York. Try shoveling, and driving, and everything else, in 1ft. to 8ft. of this everyday, all day, for 3-5months!!? Take this as a learning TOOL/Experience,..to pay a little 'closer attention' in life! You mis-understood the des.
Oswego is definitely the champ for lake effect snow in NY. I grew up east of Rochester and we had some pretty impressive snowfalls, but nothing like Oswego.
And I've always wanted to be in Vegas for the cars! But trust me, you don't know what you would get yourself into. We just got two feet of snow today and, well, let's just say it's not ANY fun to shovel that!!!
Lol trust me Vegas isn't all that great like they say on tv.And there's really no car shows that come here except for this one car show that comes every year.
I live in syracuse, and attend college in oswego, the snowbelt king of the world! I love upstate new york, its unique, it can be 95 degrees in summer, and 0 in winter with 8 feet of snow in 2 days!, I love it! downstate sucks! speaking of snow, big lake effect event for the area this weekend:D, can't wait:)
love this video because the very first part is my drive to work everyday weather it be 90 iin the summer or snow like this in the winter get the best of both worlds in upstate NY the real upstate to not 50 miles outside of NYC
Actually Lake Effect has a tendency to occur under conditions of high pressure. It's kind of strange; winter storms pass, and we don't get much of a chance to "dig out" because in lieu of the low pressure system, there's often a northwest wind which picks up moisture from the great lakes and dumps snow in Upstate New York.
Looks familiar to me.We usually get lake effect snow here. But, this video reminds me when we got our 7 feet in 2 days in 2001. This is a way of life in Buffalo N.Y. I for one understand the term "snow bound"
Boy that brings out childhood memories. I have to send this to all the Denverites out here when they panic if we (rarely) get 18 inches, usually melted away after a couple of days. I remember remnants of the 16 foot snow piles still being on the ground in June!
I used to live in herkimer county and so rember the snow storms of when we would go outside ands the car would be under snow and plow cant get up the roads and old king kong wouldnt stop going. i am in virginia and miss th snow so sights like this make me feel at home
I live right in the middle of the area that got this storm. I have figured out that I shoveled about fifty tons of snow off my roof. I also snow-blowed more than two hundred tons of snow out of my long driveway. I only missed one day of work during that time. And that was because it took me eight hours to get home from work from Syracuse the night before!
That is pathetic. You get 100 inches of snow and the roads are still in fairly good condition. In PIttsburgh, PA we get 3" of snow and there are 3" on the road for a week or until it melts! PENDOT sucks!
Imagine the snow you normally know and add a quart of water to each snow flake!LOL! it weighs a ton, we call it heart attack snow here in Syracuse. Usually because you end up having one while trying to shovel it!
I used to live in Pennellville (southern Oswego County) We had a blizzard in 1994 (or 1993?). Then I moved to North Carolina and we had a hurricane in 1996. Between the two, I'll choose a blizzard. Little damage. No power outage (well that was the old NiMo back then not National Grid). Mostly peaceful.
"got" i wish i lived in the snowbelt ;o) chicago's dry 'n frostbitin' :o(( where they get lots of snow every winter? don't care for colorado nor dacotas
Love the photos and the soundtrack although it gives me flashbacks to all the winters I survived in Rome, NY. Yet, this storm was off the charts! Thanks for sharing.
