  • I live in buffalo

  • I shoveled a roof in Pulaski in 93[working]and just to the north the sky was black[lake effect]and could hear thunder.About 0 degrees that day.

  • I lived in watertown when blizzard of 77 hit now live in arkansas and glad to be here

  • Lived in Alen NY. during the storm. Stayed home from school the day the blizzard hit. Didn't see my Mom or Dad for two weeks. Live in Arizona now!

  • Living in North Carolina and although I don't like the cold, a real nice snow storm would be fun.

  • I grew up in bataiva , new york WAS THERE FOR 1977 STORM thanks for the memorys, damn I miss new york

  • I grew up in Watertown and I'm so glad that I live in Georgia now. Much nicer weather...lol

  • Im in Watertown NY and I need a snow blower and a sled then I would enjoy the winter. Cool video by the way.

  • @DAYDRUMMER I grew up in Watertown and I must say I am glad I moved to Virginia. I don't know how many more Watertown winters I could deal with.

  • No where in this video do I see 100 inches of snow.. That would be up to the top of windows.. Just north of where I live, they get 250 inches a year and use the second story doors..

  • @jsnasselin

Check out the big brain on jsnasselin, just as you stated, the snow would be to the top of the windows, so, having stated the obvious, do you really think my little truck would be able to navigate thru 100 inches of snow, perhaps, that is the reason you don't see it. thanks so much for looking, from now on, YOU, are not allowed to look at this page anymore, never, no mo, not at all.......don't do it.....don't........

  • @jsnasselin .....PLUS, ....It also states: We got over 100 inches ' IN 1 WEEK ' , ...You're talkin about some 250 inches in a year/season? I don't think the place you're talking about get nearly as much snow as we do. You gotta be TOUGH to live around these parts of New York. Try shoveling, and driving, and everything else, in 1ft. to 8ft. of this everyday, all day, for 3-5months!!? Take this as a learning TOOL/Experience,..to pay a little 'closer attention' in life! You mis-understood the des.

  • ellicottville NY gets more snow dude..

  • Just outta college, I moved up a Glens Falls job interview so I wouldn't get stranded. I don't think they were appreciative - I didn't get it.

  • I am thinking about moving to the area in a few yrs Looks like a snowblower is in order LOL WE get snow here but nothing like that WOW

  • Oswego is definitely the champ for lake effect snow in NY. I grew up east of Rochester and we had some pretty impressive snowfalls, but nothing like Oswego.

  • Looking forward to the snow. Get out the bomber and go.

  • cool me off ! :)))))

  • The sky is falling!!! kool video!!!!

    Saludos from MACHU PICCHU Peru!

  • I always wanted to live in PA just for the snow.I never seen snow and i live in Vegas.

  • And I've always wanted to be in Vegas for the cars! But trust me, you don't know what you would get yourself into. We just got two feet of snow today and, well, let's just say it's not ANY fun to shovel that!!!

  • Lol trust me Vegas isn't all that great like they say on tv.And there's really no car shows that come here except for this one car show that comes every year.

  • Well, I didn't really mean shows, more like dealerships and just cars on the street.

  • Ohhh, yep there are a lot of dealer ships like there's a street where there's dealerships across from each other and next to one another lol.

  • just to be clear to anyone who doesn't know, BIG difference between Syracuse in Onondaga County and up North - Oswego County.

  • My home town ! Syracuse NY :)

  • I live in Fulton, and were getting Slammed, It sucks no Snow days though, they're Stubbon... :|

  • yeah north country is ready for snow they know how to deal with it so well

  • I live in sullivan county, NY and we're expecting a big storm this weekend which should be the biggest storm we've had so far this season.

  • I live in syracuse, and attend college in oswego, the snowbelt king of the world! I love upstate new york, its unique, it can be 95 degrees in summer, and 0 in winter with 8 feet of snow in 2 days!, I love it! downstate sucks! speaking of snow, big lake effect event for the area this weekend:D, can't wait:)

  • love this video because the very first part is my drive to work everyday weather it be 90 iin the summer or snow like this in the winter get the best of both worlds in upstate NY the real upstate to not 50 miles outside of NYC

  • last year in wisconsin we got 111 inches in one year-but you guys got it in a week, so you beat me

  • In the uk we don't ever get that, 100 inches once every 20+ years?

  • Actually Lake Effect has a tendency to occur under conditions of high pressure. It's kind of strange; winter storms pass, and we don't get much of a chance to "dig out" because in lieu of the low pressure system, there's often a northwest wind which picks up moisture from the great lakes and dumps snow in Upstate New York.

  • Preferably west with Lake Ontario to get the whole fetch is when its really good!

  • god i don't miss that I live in vegas and i see snow on the mountain and that is all i need

  • didnt u just get like 5 inches in vegas yesterday?

  • yes we did it was a freaky thing Just like back home. some parts of vegas got up to 8 inches

  • Official snowfall recorded in las Vegas was 3.6-inches.

  • we are lucky if we get 1 inch.

    The UK has crap weather.

  • Thanks Steve...I did wonder..

  • ok, maybe a stupid question to you, but what IS lake effect snow??

  • Looks familiar to me.We usually get lake effect snow here. But, this video reminds me when we got our 7 feet in 2 days in 2001. This is a way of life in Buffalo N.Y. I for one understand the term "snow bound"

  • Boy that brings out childhood memories. I have to send this to all the Denverites out here when they panic if we (rarely) get 18 inches, usually melted away after a couple of days. I remember remnants of the 16 foot snow piles still being on the ground in June!

  • I used to live in herkimer county and so rember the snow storms of when we would go outside ands the car would be under snow and plow cant get up the roads and old king kong wouldnt stop going. i am in virginia and miss th snow so sights like this make me feel at home

  • I live right in the middle of the area that got this storm. I have figured out that I shoveled about fifty tons of snow off my roof. I also snow-blowed more than two hundred tons of snow out of my long driveway. I only missed one day of work during that time. And that was because it took me eight hours to get home from work from Syracuse the night before!

  • That is pathetic. You get 100 inches of snow and the roads are still in fairly good condition. In PIttsburgh, PA we get 3" of snow and there are 3" on the road for a week or until it melts! PENDOT sucks!

  • I hate when there is snow on the ground and its sunny.

  • I have got to see Lake Effect first hand someday...Great video! at 6:18..awesome

  • Imagine the snow you normally know and add a quart of water to each snow flake!LOL! it weighs a ton, we call it heart attack snow here in Syracuse. Usually because you end up having one while trying to shovel it!

  • lol i miss NiMo i hate national grid

  • AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN! ! ! National Grid SUCKS!!!!

  • I used to live in Pennellville (southern Oswego County) We had a blizzard in 1994 (or 1993?). Then I moved to North Carolina and we had a hurricane in 1996. Between the two, I'll choose a blizzard. Little damage. No power outage (well that was the old NiMo back then not National Grid). Mostly peaceful.

  • I remember some bad blizzards growing up in NY State but these pics are amazing. What a storm.

  • ZAPPA! Man, haven't heard that in decades. :D Vicious blizzard.

  • trade you for the Sanora's

  • Got I'm glad I moved from the snow belt to sun and heat of AZ

  • "got" i wish i lived in the snowbelt ;o) chicago's dry 'n frostbitin' :o(( where they get lots of snow every winter? don't care for colorado nor dacotas

  • Central New York Thats your spot!

  • 75 degrees and sunny in Phoenix AZ

  • I'll take a ride thru the superstitions up route 88 over this snow anytime!!!

  • Sometime if you could go out by the racetrack and Wine Creek, that would be cool to see.

  • Love the photos and the soundtrack although it gives me flashbacks to all the winters I survived in Rome, NY. Yet, this storm was off the charts! Thanks for sharing.
