i can't believe that the man at the end of the video like many blacks who want white people to love them bring them to their house and so on, but talk little if not never about how black people can become independent from white people. is like this mentality is going to go on for ever. white people why don't you like me can you please like me. the Japanese people were saying we are not the enemy the European= whites are, the ones that spit at you on every chance, bet he didn't learn that....
This whole video reeks of Austalians trying to whitewash their own history of HYPER-racism.
"See, that whole genocide of the black Asutralians wasn't so bad, because we were nice to some black soldiers in WW2." A pathetic feeble propaganda effort.
Totally shameful. Just goes to prove that when you're guilty you just feel compelled to lie.
@BlackTruthForever Australia does have a shameful history regarding the treatment of indigenous Australians, but the events described in this doco did occur. I have a black American relative that was deployed to Australia during WWII and he reported similar occurrences to what's described in the documentary. It doesn't negate other terrible occurrences (ie. genocide) in Australia's history. But this chapter of Australia's history is also important to know about.
Check out an interview with the Director and Co-Writer of this film, Nicole McCuaig. This interview took place on June 24th, 2011. recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-97250/TS-502680.mp3 RWSWJ.
Black soldiers in the U.S? I can put any black soldiers in the U.S army in the pedestal because they are figthing to protect and defend the land of their oppressor (white people). If they start to fight to defend Caribbean and African people (black people) than I will start to praise them.
You realize that this documentary is based on the 1940's. Some of the most powerful people in the U.S., at present, are black and there is a large black middle class. Now Americans fight to defend American interests, which isn't based on skin color.
In America there is a system of white supremacy in place and if you are a black soldier in the U.S Army logically you are figthing to preserve a country who is racist against you so you are not figthing for your benefit you are figthing for the benefit of your oppressor and you are also preserving the supremacy (white supremacy) of this oppressor. So no its not good to be black soldier in the US Army, Canadian forces or European forces (military forces in europe).
@Orlan54 Wrong. Token successes does not eradicate an overall white supremacist political-economic system. Else, we would not even be mentioning race today.
Australian citizens where friendly to the african men but the Australian polticans where like fuc*ing trade slavers same goes for the White americans racism has declined over the years but this is this level of racism was ****ing unacatable never again aye
the austrailan army will never have a problem with decrimination because they treat everyone like shit
you see the thing with austrailans is that were all rasits basterds but we dont meen any harm to anyone its just part of our stick it to the world culture
Most whites in the WW2 era treated blacks horribly! I'm a 41yr old black man and things like this infuriate me!!! My people have been on this continent(AMERICA) for almost 400yrs and have been treated worse than a mangy dog!! White people(especially the racists) wouldnt have had this problem if they would've left us alone in Africa!! TOOOOO late now! I was born in Memphis, TN and have NO plans on going back to Africa! GOD BLESS AMERICA...MY HOME SWEET HOME!!
elwin. You are correct. Black people were treated horribly by white people. I think the situation is far better now. People in general are better educated. There are still racists around. It is our duty to educate them too.
The treatment of blacks in the US Army during WWII is the greatest crime aver committed by the United States. I'm from Puerto Rico and when Puerto Rican Units began to be form during the war, they were integrated because Puerto Rico didn't have segregation. Prior to deployment the soldiers of this units were order to take there shirts off to se their skin color and reassigned them to Color or to white troops. This was just disgusting.
Australia would not have been taken by Japan, Australia is very vast and dry, there is no water for miles and the Japs simply wouldnt have been able to do it.
australia would not of been part of japan, japan did not even want to try to take over australia, they deemed it too hard for their armed forces, read a book puremongrel
Bullocks! The Aussie soliders were the toughest bastards you wanna know. They were the best jungle fighters. Even in Nam the VCs said that they rather fight the Yanks because the Aussies (Diggers) were like the VCs, they thought like them. The Japs were shit scared of the Aussies, mate! Read your fucking history!
Heard plenty about the Diggers, my friend. Just like the ANZACS in the Med, they were definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Truth be told, the best service that the US offered Australia was our navy. Without that, the Japanese would've had the means to eventually overtake Australia, although it would've been a hell of an effort, which would've probably been interrupted by Soviet opportunists invading Japanese-held Manchukuo.
@rubberdoggybone Australian soldiers are fookin beasts. Tough hard bastards I've known a few in me time. They get respect. MNet alot of em in Hong Kong.
@puremongrel you obviously haven't heard about the partition plan should Australia have fallen and by the way what's with this oh we won the war everyone was saved because of us which isn't true.

Actually, Australia could defended it's but, 3/5 of the men in Australia would have been wiped out. So in the end it's good that they came:).
